Hello,
Some strange status of my Tablet S (SGPT112CN/S), bought in China.
The original version is 3.2. I wanted to root it, so the device was updated to 3.2.1 by a SD card -- because it was said the not 3.2 but 3.2.1 can be rooted. Then it was rooted successfully.
But now I find it is of a strange "dual system" status: there are two version of system in the device at the same time. One is unroot 3.2.1, and the other one is root 3.2. They swithed once you reboot the device: this time is 3.2.1, next time is 3.2.
And it takes about nine minutes to reboot the device each time. Before the update it took about four or five minutes. (Still long, but much much better than now.)
No idea what to do now. Update again? Root again? Totally confused.
Thanks

Thanks! I'll try again.
Though it may sound strange, just too lazy to update...

Oops... Still "dual system": 3.2 this time, and 3.2.1 next time.
At least you have two versions of the OS.
And you really think we where going to end there?
Try a dual flash from Condi's AIO Toolkit.

Thanks! I've got AOI 6.5, but could you please tell what is "dual flash"?

Will it be helpful to change the region? It seems that there is problem with the system rather than the region...
Maybe I should try to update a third 4.0.3, then I may have a tablet with three systems. What a mess....

The tablet has two system partitions, system0 and system1. "Dual flash" means the tool flashes both system partitions so they are identical, which is what you want. When the tablet boots, it uses only one of the system partitions. The tool first determines which partition is being used and then flashes the unused partition. Then the tool causes the tablet to switch and use the newly flashed partition and flashes the previously used partition.

China apparently has all sorts of problem with Play store etc. That is why I mentioned. Also there are a lot more zips for US region (all of them infact 3.2 11000, 3.2.1R1 0035 3.2.1R2 0042, ICS, ICSR1a, ICSR5 and ICSR5a). This is because people have collected them and re-uploaded when Sony has taken them down.

As an alternative to flasher you could install US R5 and Then the newer R5a. This would make one system partition R5 and the other R5a. Once there root and install rescue back-door.

Thanks very much! I'll try to fix it later. A little busy these days...

Though I can download a CN version 3.2.1 ROM when it has been removed from the update server of SONY (alsocollected by users of Tablet S in China), but no play store is a HUGE problem.
I'll try to fix the problem later. Maybe this week. Then I'll return to update.

Sorry for updating so late... The rooted 3.2. "disappeared" automaticly several months ago. I have changed region into US and updated to 4.0.3, but havn't root it. It takes about two minutes to reboot.
