There's a part of me that REALLY likes the idea of replacing my tablet, phone, and WiFi Router with a single device. Since I suspect a 10" would be too big to carry around with me, I am thinking about getting the Streak 7 4G and pairing it up with the T-Mobile 4G pre-paid plan at $30/mo for 100 minutes, unlimited text, and 5GB data.
I think I understand what compromises I'm making in terms of a tablet (I have previously owned an iPad, a Viewsonic G-Tablet, and iPad 2, and a Motorola Xoom while my wife has a Kindle fire). However, I am interested in finding out how well this works in terms of the other two uses. As a phone, I presume that while you COULD use it directly that most folks use a Bluetooth headset? If so, any recommendations? Also, anyone who has used a streak and a headset with Groove IP?
Then as a hotspot, I presume the T-mobile plan is ok with that. Does it give enough WiFi that it can reach from my desk to the desk across from me? Perhaps more important, does it allow me to setup WPA Personal with AES security?
Thanks in advance!
