[Q] Streaming from PC via an outside(ie McDonalds) WiFi Hotspot?

Guys I'm curious....Will we be able to stream games from our PC via an outside(ie McDonalds, a casino, etc) WiFi Hotspot to the Shield? Or is it strictly for home use and very short distances?

The NVidia Shield cannot stream over anything than a Wireless Area Network (WAN), not the actual Internet. The latency is not only too high, but public Wi-Fi would also be very unsuitable to stream any game. Plus, you would need a literal computer tower inside the McDonalds... so no.

Thanks for the reply. But just to confirm, you *CAN* access the internet and browse the web from a normal outside wifi hotspot...correct?

should be able to, technically when your not using it's special features it should function like any android tablet

Streaming is restricted to within the LAN (and most WiFi hotspots are not high-speed anyway), but all other WiFi functionality is normal Android behavior.
