I'm curious as to the success rate of returning bricked phones to Verizon and actually getting a replacement whether you did it through insurance (which should always work) or the original warranty. It's mainly what is holding me back from unlocking it and going to town. This wouldn't be anywhere near my first phone I've flashed or anything, although it would be the first non-samsung. I'm mainly hesitant because if I brick it and get stuck with it I have no replacement phones with me at school and would obviously lose my ability to contact family/friends until I could get one.

When the screen died on my last Rezound, which was Unlocked and rooted and did not have any insurance, they had absolutely no issues sending me a replacement.
Its been over a month now, my new Rezound is working great and I don't think expect to hear back from Verizon that there was a problem with my returning an unlocked and rooted rezound.

I broke the screen on mine. :( Used the insurance via online. They sent me a replacement of EVERYTHING (Phone, cables, battery, 4g card, SD Card and the headphones) and only asked for the phone itself back. Nothing else wanted. Was simple and painless...

Best part is... I have a spare battery, battery cover, extra SDCard, extra 4g card AND another set of Beats headphones. All for $90. Cannot beat that. :D
