Hi guys, I need some help in figuring my problem here with this new dual-sim phone I purchased.

It's a TCL Idol X S950 and it has the following frequencies:
Supports HSPA+/ HSPA+ / HSPA / UMTS / GPRS / GSM - UMTS 900/2100MHz GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz

I have a T-Mobile USA micro-sim and an AT&T USA micro-sim in there and they are both only giving me Edge. I've tweaked the APN settings for both and changed the Radio preference to WCDMA-preferred, etc.

I'm afraid my problem is not with the settings but the actual frequencies. Can someone please tell me if the frequencies listed support 3G on either sim? If so, what am I missing?

Thanks guys.

you can check here http://maps.mobileworldlive.com/network.php?cid=169&cname=United States

T-Mobile needs 1700/2100 for 3G and AT&T needs 850/1900 for 3G....basically you cannot use 3G with these carriers along with this phone....:(

Thanks a lot man... I was afraid of that. The phone is just so nice, I want to keep it but I gotta really see if Edge will be enough for what I do. I'm giving up my Nexus 4 for this dual-sim phone so we'll see.

There's also the Huawei Ascend P6 I was considering but I think I'll have the same issue...

The description is a bit confusing:
§ 3G: CDMA 800MHz ,GSM 900/1800/1900MHz(CDMA version,dual SIM card)
§ 2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

In any case, thanks a lot...
