[Q] Trouble Connecting

Hey guys. first of all i would like to say that this is the best phone ive owned so Far!!

but for somereason when i try to connect my phone to my computer (windows 7 64bit Home Premium)it doesnt get recognized.

I can access mass storage, and i already installed the drivers. i even install kies. But the problem that i have is that when i toggle USB Debugging my computer pops up with a message saying USB Device Not Recognized. How can i fix this? i really want to figure it out because i want to make my Captivate be able to install 3rd party apps.

Are you plugging your phone into the USB port in the rear of the computer? If not try this.

You should read up in the development section. You can get sideloading allong with many other goodies all through your phone without the use of a computer. That being said make sure you can recognize your phone on your PC before you go crazy

yeah before i actually try using putting on a rom, i wanna make sure i can connect to my computer first. and this is wierd right after i wrote this tread i plugged in my captivate and everthing installed correctly when i had usb debugging on but the one click root program still didnt detect my phone then i unplugged it and plugged it back in and now its not being recognized...wtf?

If you are looking to Root your phone there are ways without your pc. Just saying. Look up oclf in the market

Dear my hero. I LOVE YOU(no homo) i guess all i had to do was connect it to the back because now debugging works flawlessly and i now have sideloading!!!! thank you so much +rep
