I seem to have found the ROM I need on the thread [ROM][JB] Team EOS 3 (Stable release), but I still need some help. My Xoom has ICS 4.0.3, and I want to upgrade to JB 4.1.1. Is there a step by step tutorial to upgrade Android?

I've already downloaded the rom (Xoom EU 3g - umts_everest / MZ601) and Google Applications from the links on that thread.

Last time I upgraded my Xoom, it was from stock Honeycomb to the current version of ICS. But I've followed a step by step tutorial listing everything from the downloads to the fastboot commands to get things done.

Sorry for (what I think is) such a simple question, but I'm really too careful with my device because I don't want to screw it.

Tks.

Edit:

I've found a great tutorial here in the forum. I still have some questions that I'll post there.

how to flash

It s very easy no tutorial needed for this
1. You need custom recovery
2. External SD card

Copy the Rom and the Google app zip files on the external sd
Start on recovery mode (when you see the logo Motorola after 2,3 seconds push the volume - after volume +)
Make wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, wipe data factory
After install zip file from external sd card, chose first the rom eos zip file
Make the same for google app zip file
Reboot

And it's ok

I am at a loss

I unlocked the xoom and upgraded to JB no problem. But once I was there I was unable to load anything from the play store. Nothing would get the play store app to boot even when I downloaded the apk from other sources. The web store was also useless. Even using the built in app that was supposed to block them from seeing that I was unlocked, still no good.

So basically, what good is rooting if you can't do anything ?
