[Q] "Tweaking" My Samsung Focus

I have a Samsung Focus that I just today unlocked using the ChevronWP7 token method, and I also installed the XAP from here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1334248

which, I believe, now made my Focus also Interop Unlocked. There are also some other things I want to "customize" on my Focus and, being new to this whole unlocking thing on WP7 devices (I've previously rooted a couple of Android devices, so I kind of have a small idea of what I'm doing), I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing those things, yet! Here, specifically, are a few things I want to do:

1. Be able to add new accent colors for the tiles.

2. Add a "never" option to the screen timeout settings (I know - bad for a SuperAMOLED screen, but I just want it to stay on when playing my music; I figure the images change every few minutes, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem).

3. Reduce, slightly, the brightness of the screen when set to "low" - it's still too bright at that setting, even with Auto Brightness turned off (I drive a tractor-trailer for a living and frequently drive in the dark. My phone sets in a dashboard mount so I can use my GPS turn-by-turn directions as a back-up to my dedicated truck GPS, and it's too bright & distracting at night)!

I'm sure you need to edit registry settings in order to accomplish these things (I've already found settings for some in another post here), but I need to know how to go about doing that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Dennis

Sorry for a side question:

What hardware revision is your Focus? I've also unlocked my S.F. (running Mango) with chevron, but I'm not able install any XAP application, even those interop friendly, so what did you do exactly? Maybe I shoudl check it on different PC, yet my os is W7 x64, and I had no problems with installing XAP on factory firmware with chevron unlocked.

My phone says "Hardware revision number: 3.1.0.7"; I didn't do anything except Chevron unlock & then install the Internet Sharing + Interop Unlock. I then was able to, without any difficulty at all, deploy XAP's to my phone and install/run new apps!

Dennis,

If you're dev/interop unlocked go ahead and install advanced config xap from here http://forum.touchxperience.com/download/file.php?id=185. it answers to the first 2 of your wishes/issue. Brightness issue is NOT an issue, these are the lowest settings of the LEDs as in SAMOLED- there's no backlight source lice in LCD/TFT. If you reduce the brightness under this min values ( is doable in Android devices) colors will shift, eg white will get yellow and blue will shift to magenta, not to mention there's a slight chance you'd burn head LS of the Bayern array.

PS. For #2 ONLY: Install a registry editor and set the HKLM( Local Machine)/ Control Panel/Lock/DisableNever/dword to value 0 then reboot your device.
