Usually my phone is on Silent Mode so that it doesn't bother anyone. However, when I have headphones plugged in, I'd love to have Driving Mode on so I don't have to look at my phone every time it goes off. Unfortunately, the internal speaker doesn't disable itself when headphones are plugged in. Is there a system setting, app, or root tweak that disables the internal speaker when there are headphones connected?

Why don't you just go to ics?
Because I was away from my computer until 2 weeks after UCFL6 was released, and I ended up squandering the small amount of free time I've had reading and worrying about the brick bug that was rumored to exist in FL6.

Do you know if the same thing happens in ICS?

To be honest I'm having trouble understanding your issue. Now you are trying to find a way so that your phone comes out of silent mode when headphones are plugged in so u hear notifications? Let me read your op again. One sec

Are you saying the notifications, when u change to "driving mode" (never used it) go through speaker instead of headphones even when they are connected. Sorry, I'm just trying to understand the issue

I don't want it to come out of silent mode (I can do that myself), I want the loudspeaker (the one built into the Skyrocket) to mute itself when headphones are connected. Currently, if headphones are plugged in, system and notification sounds play through both the loudspeaker and headphones.

EDIT: Not just the notifications, all non-media sounds are played through the headphones and loudspeaker. It happens regardless of the status of Driving Mode.

So calls, texts, etc? I will test it and let u know. I'm on cm9 stable atm. I'm pretty sure it works properly (ie only though headset) but I will check

Kind of. Here's what triggered it for me:

  1. Switch to silent mode.
  2. Plug in headphones.
  3. Turn off silent mode.
  4. Trigger a non-media sound (notifications seem to work).
  5. Notice that the sound plays through both the loudspeaker and headphones.
