[Q] Unable to get 4G

Hello, Hope i can get assistance here as Sprint, and Freedompop are of no help. I bought a S3 off ebay going on a month ago and since i am normally around WIFI all the time and i do see a Tower Status with 4/5 bars i never paid it any mind. I recently went off exploring with my phone and i noticed i only got 3G signal when i got home i also noticed i only got a 3G signal so i checked sprints website and it says i should be falling over with LTE. So i assumed it was because i had a custom rom so i went back to stock(ND8). Updated my Profile and PRL as per Freedompops suggestions did the MSL reset and factory resets used every ##code i could come up with forced my phone in LTE only mode ran some APN fixes none of that worked. I am sure Freedompop gave up they last replied on the 11th. based on what i Google some people had this fix by having sprint update the ICCID i sent them a SS of all the information on my Status screen and they said they updated the ICCID to what was shown there. However after all this i am still NOT getting LTE mind you after i reset my phone when its doing the intial setup or randomly after i power on my phone i get an error "Unable to establish a wireless data connection" :LTE: ESM - x EMM - 8 I do have the sprint connection optimizer turned off. so could someone give me more suggestions and hopefully a solution.

Maybe you don't have a good 4G at home, so that's why you can't activate 4G? Try standing close to a window while you attempt to activate. Also, you could try to download a different stock (I activate just fine with the Deodexed rom there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2741413)

You can also attempt to flash the modem again.

If you can't get 4G on a freshly installed stock rom, then I'm afraid there is not much hope for you.

Maybe you don't have a good 4G at home, so that's why you can't activate 4G? Try standing close to a window while you attempt to activate. Also, you could try to download a different stock (I activate just fine with the Deodexed rom there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2741413)

If you can't get 4G on a freshly installed stock rom, then I'm afraid there is not much hope for you.
That's the stock Rom I used deoxed one right now I'm on aosp tribute. How do I flash modems. I have tried around 10 miles of my house only places I travel but sprints map says my entire Philadelphia area has spark and lte .

The S3 doesn't support Spark - I believe it only can connect at the 1900 MHz frequency.

The safest way to flash the modem is to do a full Odin reinstall of the stock rom. You can get the proper file here and here.

A stand alone ND8 modem used to be available here, but got taken down after multiple reports of bricking. I have a copy of it online if you want it; message me and I'll send you a link.

feeling so unlucky odion doesnt work i tried it earlier been using CWM odin haults

I have no idea what is wrong... I suggest you create another thread about this.

The only explanation I can think of is that you USB cable might have a problem (the S3 is known to be difficult with cables) . Maybe use a different USB port even.

Also make sure you run Odin as administrator, and have all the proper drivers installed. Also check the version of Odin (I use 3.09, check page 8).

I must say I know every little about Odin, I only used it two or three times

Aside from your Odin issues now have you previously gone into settings to make sure you have the lte turned on?

You have to go into mobile network, then make sure the CDMA/lte is checked off on not just CDMA

Yup cdma\lte is enabled I get 0 bars than 5 bars no icon then I get 3g signal. When I force lte on within hidden menu I get 0 bars the esm 8 error more frequent. Freedompop customer support latest email told me to take take my phone into sprint store and have SIM card replaced ..I guess they don't know sim card is embedded unless they do that stuff at sprint stores

Try Odin version 3.09 I don't have the link but I used to use 3.07 and last week it wouldn't work. I tried the 3.09 just for the hell of it and bam it worked.

I really, really hope you aren't having the same issues as these people.
I am aware of that issue and tried to receive assistance on sprint forums however since i have a MVNO (Freedompop) i have to get my assistance through them. As the phone was bought on ebay and was refurbished i have no idea if the on board SIM card was replaced but it is seeming like something is up with my ICCID. I did contact my MVNO and sent them a screenshot of my device status settings asking them to update the ICCID and they assured me they updated them on there end. I don't know if there is some long delay when their settings are updated or if they are able to update what sprint sees.

I am really starting to lose hope as my MVNO provider told me to goto a sprint store for a new sim card but i don't think they can since its an embedded card.

Would the sprint store be able to access my information since from my understanding im not the customer freedompop is
