[Q] Unable to unlock bootloader at 4.4.2, any solution?

I suppose it has to be asked..
did you add a google account after the rom flash?

As said.. DON'T..... Just let it run through first setup with out any accounts..
then try the unlock app..

If you have already done this, then I don't know what else can be done, unless Asus does a reset on the MAC address back on their servers..
Good luck getting that to happen, hope you don't have to go down that track..

Answers is no .. no accounts set up.
I Have also downgraded it to earliest version of 4.4.2 (11_4_1_17) with no issues.

As i see it i have two options.
I think im going with #2 below ( its a light work day for me on Mondays.)
1. Figure out a way to get it back to 4.2.2 or 4.3 via APX. (then try to unlock once archived)
2. Call Up Asus (I have open ticket for not able to unlock boot-loader) and see about the MAC address they have confirmed my serial number it never occurred to ask for the MAC reset.

Understand, nothing more frustrating then something not working the way it should.
Only other thing is to check you are using the right unlock tool

I have unlocked two of my TF701T but this particular one is driving me insane.
I have spent days scouting the Google webs..and have tried lots of resets and flashing procedures..
The only thing i have not tried is to downgrade it in apx mode since i cant find a suitable instructions for TF701T .

Any extra knowledge from any body is appreciated

Actually ASUS support really surprised me. I told them the problem straigth out. they sent the update to be done in Korea or whereever. They said it has been updated. And the dam tablet Unlocked like it didn't know any different.
I put put a boot loader and CW 12.1 . Now the battery life is nothing short of Miracle. (Last charge of friday, and on Monday morning its at 60%). Copies faster, Memory and USB access is amazing.

what do you mean they sent the update? the serial and MAC info?
would you happen to have a case number i could point Asus to...so i can say do what you did with xxxxxxx to mine aswell?

I install, only , Unlock Asus app , found on Asus website .
I try this app another time , and . . . . .
I see a message to force unlocked , i confirme !
It's ok ! ! ! My device is unlocked , finally ! ! !

Hi All, just to confirm the unlock tool from the ASUS site does work, but the Google account verification part doesn't

Assumptions:
1. You're on OS 4.2 and above (STOCK)
2. An internet connection
3. You have a copy of the unlock tool on internal or card memory

Summary of Steps:
1. Reset Device, wait for reset and system reload (you can uncheck "blank your internal storage", it's not necessary)
2. Do not add a Google account when asked but do add a WiFi connection
3. Go into Settings > Security and check "Unknown sources"
4. Open File Manager > find the unlock tool and install
5. Open the unlock tool and waive the warnings about a lack of Google account. Continue anyway, message will confirm unlock request, device will reboot without warning

Device will take a while to unlock - you will notice "about to unlock message" on bootloader screen, reboot, then unlocked message, then the old OS reinstated

Well it's 2017 and I've finally decided that I'm sick of version 4.4.2. I'm looking for the ASUS unlock tool. I spent some time searching ASUS's website and can't find it. Many of the links given in this forum redirect to the TF701 product page. I even used site:asus.com with google to search with no luck

Above in this thread, a kind gentleman posted a link to the unlocker he used, but that was June 2016 and it's no longer active.

Any suggestions?

I may have the tool squirreled away on my storage - I'll check when I get home - but the interesting question is: If they removed the unlock tool form their support website, did they also remove the companion tool providing the unlock token from their servers? Only one way to find out, I guess. I'll post a link here if I have the tool.

What a coincidence, i find myself in the same situation. Fortunately through a google search i stumbled across the russian ASUS site which still has the unlock tool online.
XDA wont let me post an outside link directly because its my first post but you should be able to figure out my workaround below

I used it in de the manner mentioned 2 post's ago:
- reset device to manufacture's settings
- add wifi but no google account
- allow apps from untrusted sources
- run apk
did the trick the first time for me.

I used the reset method because even though the apk came from the https asus site etc i felt uncomfortable entering my google account details. And as it turns out the app seems to reset the device anyway.

Somewhere in the coming days i'll try to upload a custom rom to my device but I haven't done much research there yet. I hope the unlock tool works for you too and any tips or hints as to a good custom rom would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the Google account from the device. Then unlock.

Its just warning that i can only read but cant select and complete unlocking of my device. I have just deleted my google account but it have not helped.

Thanks berndblb, I d/l'ed it to have it at the ready, the TF701 I got off eBay should be here Monday and the charging cable should be here
on the 8th. I want to have all the files ready to upgrade the 701 when it gets here. I love the 201 but the week wifi is finaly getting to me.
