I will provide more details as needed but wanted to try to keep this post brief and to the point.

I have a Tmobile note 2 that shows the IMEI number as unknown and the same for the broadband.
I have no backup prior to this happening.
I have tried flashing stock roms though odin and radios though recovery, hasnt helped.

Now tools like QPST are not working for me. I can get the phone into debugging mode. I can ADB to it. QPST can detect the port that the phone is on, device manager shows the port. But when i try reading or writing to it, it give an error saying phone not detected/available.

I do have an NV backup that i made with qualcoms NV Tools, but that NV tools will not connect to the phone either. It detects the com port but once it tries to connect it says the phone disconnected.

Basically the same deal with NV Writer.

My brother also has a note 2, i made a full back up of his in TW recovery.
I restored it on mine, making sure that the radio and EFS are also checked.

But it didnt help, which i found wierd because everyone mentions how the data is in the EFS partition. I figured i could atleast get it to show my brothers IMEI number and then that be enough for me to use the other tools to over write it to the correct number.

Open to pretty much anything at this point. Will gladly give any more info thats needed too.

Well, restored my brothers note 2 to stock. Installed TW recovery. Made a full backup including radio and EFS.
Copied it to my note2 and restored it. My problem still persists.

Was thinking of maybe trying to use KIES to do a firmware restore. But i cant get my note or his to connect to the software. It says its not supported after trying to connect for like 2 min. My S3 connects with no problems. No idea why his isnt connecting, i can kind of understand with mine being screwed.

I have a good note 2 thats my bros. Need to find away to use it to restore mine... Any ideas?

Have you tried reinstalling the newest drivers for your pc? Get a different usb cord.

If a known good phone will not connect (brother's) I would suspect a communication issue. Once you can get both to connect, Odin yours with the stock rom. Can't hurt unless you do the Odin wrong.

I would ODIN in to stock using Mr. Robinson prerooted or non rooted firmware. its totally preference if you want rooted or not. but its simple as can be. let me know if you need help. Sounds like your having a problem with kies not recognizing your device? or is your PC not recognizing it either?

I would try uninstalling the drivers and Kies, then reinstalling everything. Or perhaps try with a different computer.

There is more than one thing happening here if a second identical, known good, phone is having problems add well. The PC is part of the issue especially if you've tried 2 different cables.

Odin can solve most of the problems, if it doesn't you will need to contact T-Mobile, can't tell you what to tell them when you call them because you voided your warranty by rooting, good luck

The toolkit in the note 2 original android development has all the tools you will need

I don't recommend fraud. Not only did he void his warranty, but caused the problem. The imei doesn't get erased on a stock phone.

Of course not fraud, but sometime T-Mobile still replaces it, base on luck I guess

Oh okay, well by making up a story and portraying it as not his fault that is the definition of fraud. So I guess he could call and trell then the truth and maybe they do something, but that's not what you suggested.
