[Q] UNLOCK AT&T Samsung Captivate (SGH-i897)

i have tryed one step process to unlock my captivateat&t, but no use, in command prompt it shows "permission denined"
so tell me some other process to unlock it

I just Unlocked my Samsung Galaxy S Captivate (sgh -i897) locked to att and put my tmobile card in it. I did however pay 19.99 through paypal though, but it was well worth it, I used this site ----> I had the full link here but cause i am a new it wouldnt let me post it, go to fastgsm dot com ,watch the video, download the drivers (swallowtail- shrewsbury driver) let them install, then download there program and hook up the phone with the usb. Mine failed first time, but i didnt let the drives finish loading like the video says. second time it gave me the unfreezed code and unlock code 100% real guys I already wasted 20 bucks on other sites just for them to tell me there issueing a refund cause they cant generate a code. good luck guys!!!!!

The captivate is very easy to unlock for free guys. Flash to 2.1, root, install busybox and galaxy s unlock from the market and go through steps 1-3 on galaxy s unlock app. That's it. Very easy. I have done 3 or 4 captivates and vibrants so far.

What if I want to run 2.2 on it or 2.3? When the Galaxy S 2 comes out I will be selling mine and I have 2 interested from Canada, I am in the USA

Once unlocked it will stay unlocked no matter what you flash. You can re-lock it using the same app for warranty purpose if you wish.

You can unlock it simply using the Unlock code,You can buy the unlock code from online sites and unlock it...I suggest the site Unlocking4u.com here you can buy the unlock code and unlock it step by step.

If you're not an AT&T customer, they typically won't help you with unlock at all. Good luck.

does it need internet connection?b'cos i tried logging in to fastgsm client but it said error:the server name or address could not be resolved..help me

How can it work perfectly?! I've been trying to re-unlock my i897 for a year. I get fed up and put it down for a month or two. This particular link has no instructions... It's like trying to pass a geometry test having no geometry classes. I un locked it once using SIMPLE instructions and I can't locate them again. They were on this forum.

Do I need to be on a factory ROM to unlock? I got an unlock code, but am on OmniOS and the code is coming back "unsuccessful" when I try it.
