[Q] unlock boot loader?

Does the Asus unlock device app still work with the most up to data TF300T?

I have donloaded it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949758 this page. It tells me I have an unknown error witch might be network issues and to try later.

download it from asus. get the latest version.

Would you lose data when unlocking the bootloader? Does it wipe the data when replacing the stock recovery with a custom one such as TWRP? Thanks!
