If you guys don't resolve this through ATT, you can always try buying an unlock code online.

I have been epically screwed over with my locked Droid 2 Global, so I specifically bought an "already unlocked" Atrix. But I have also successfully unlocked a Moto Charm via code previously, so it might work for you.

I just unlocked my phone! It took a few days to get the code but swiftunlock.net got it. I guess its true, third time is a charm.

Now Im on MTN Afghanistan with my Atrix! I exchanged a few email messages with Swift and within a few days I had the code. Great customer service and a reasonable price. I would suggest swiftunlock.net to anyone who is having a problem getting a code like I was.

It says no unlock for Atrix so why are you guys praising them so much for ?

Ummmm, yeah, uhhh I just unlocked my phone so I don't know who told you this. These phones can be unlocked. My problem was that the phone I had bought was still under the sellers contract. They switched to an iPhone and sold me their Atrix. ATT wouldn't give me a code because of this and Motorola wont give these out to just anyone. Even thought I told them I was here in Afghanistan working and really needed a good phone.

Anyways, if you don't believe me, check my previous post and swift will get you the code you need to use other carriers.

For what it's worth, I just got back from vacation in Italy. I wanted to bring my Atrix with me so I called AT&T but since the phone hadn't been on the market for 6 months yet they weren't giving out sim unlock codes, even when I told them I was traveling abroad. I used an ebay site (freedom mobile, if I remember right), sent them my IMEI and three days later I had my unlock code and it worked like a charm. You'll need a non AT&T sim and when you power on the phone it'll ask for the code because of the "foreign" sim (I used my cousins Verizon "world sim" and it did the trick, after that you can plug in any compatible sim you want.

Hope this helps!

Just got my unlock codes today from cellunlock. Their instructions said to boot the phone with a non-AT&T SIM installed, but this left me in a reboot loop for some reason (using a Tracfone SIM; maybe that's why?).

Anyway, I booted my phone with no SIM and then hot-swapped the Tracfone one while the phone was on. I didn't get the unlock prompt, so I triggered it manually by dialing #073887*. Cellunlock gave me two codes, and neither of them worked -_- Has anyone had this issue before? Do I absolutely need to boot the phone with another SIM already inserted?

you need to have a non ATT SIM inside before you power on

Just to add - cellunlock.net worked fine for me. Just boot the phone with a non att sim card, that should trigger the unlock screen.

Sent from my MB860 using XDA App

I tried Swift Unlocks and it worked for me =) Cost me $20. They gave me the code in less than 24 hours for my Atrix 4G.

I would've wanted to be DIY way instead of paying, though.

Unlock codes from AT&T

I just got 2 unlock codes from AT&T with no problems. I can't verify the codes until I'm in country and have my prepaid SIM, but they did give me the codes without any hassles when I called and asked for them.

Lets test this for free unlock codes!

Hi guys,

my brazillian carrier (Claro) has an online tool for unlocking all the phones they sell, witch includes the Atrix. I have unlocked my friends phone trough this tool without issues.

If you can trust me enugh to send me your IMEI I can generate the unlock code so you can test it? Remember that you will have only 5 tries for this I think.

Have not tested this with phones locked by another carrier. Don't know if this will work. Just a tough, so maybe I can help a bunch of you for free.:D

Same here. I called AT&T on Thursday and the rep gave me the unlock code right then.
