[Q] Upgrading from CM6.1.2 pre-final to CM7 RC3

I am planning on upgrading from CM612 to CM7. Can I get away with just wiping the Dalvik cache and Cache Partition only, or do I need to wipe data/factory reset as well? I am contemplating on whether to do a full Titanium Backup prior to the upgrade.

Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find any reference in the forum after searching.

You have to wipe when going from cm6 to cm7

Yes, preferable. CM6 is Froyo, CM7 is GB.

You can take a nandroid backup of your data partition and flash it after installing CM7. May work.

Or you could use TB or Mybackup pro to get it done.

Made the transition to CM7 RC3 last night. Didn't know why I waited so long. It's fantastic!

I am always doing dalvic clean and factory reset before upgrading or downgrading to any rom.
