[Q] Upgrading from HD2 / WinMo6.5

it was about the Sensation. He is gonna upgrade & wanted to know some things first. The talk about HD2 & Android came later as we said that those of us with the HD2 will probably throw Android on it after we get the Sensation since it'll no longer be our primary phone & it'll be ok to go to a foreign OS.

please don't move it. There are other questions in this post from people like me who want to know what to expect when going from the HD2 with WM6.5 to the Sensation with Android.

You who are wondering about Android and have an HD2, why don't you load up an SD Card version of Android on your HD2 that has the older Sense UI and play with that? It will help you get used to Android and won't void your warranty. (Although with the HD2 being over a year old, unless you're buying insurance your warranty may have already expired.) It will also enable you to go right back to WM 6.5.x without WM being harmed in any way. You'll probably run into a few bugs that don't occur with custom ROMs or NAND Android builds, but it would help you familiar with Android.

tried that once. had a few bugs so I went back to WM. I didn't feel like messing around with it more trying to get it to work right as I use the HD2 as my primary phone. As stated earlier in this thread, I'll probably try again once I get the Sensation & no longer use the HD2 as my primary.

You will find the transition very easy mate I went from HD2 to Desire HD, got used to Android VERY quickly
