[Q] Upgrading from Infuse to I727 or I777 - which would you pick?

The Infuse's lag has been brutal from day one. I even swapped the phone out after three months because I thought I had bad hardware.

It's just simply too slow.

I'm going to pick up a used I777 or I727 and I'd like to know which you prefer. I know this is the I727 forum, but if you have experience with both, and were upgrading from the Infuse, what might you pick?

I'm in Chicago which has LTE. Curious if the hardware differences between the two are enough to notice in general performance. Would like to run custom JB roms without it lagging. Infuse lags like you wouldn't believe.

So, if you were me, what would you buy and why?

Oh, I'm not doing the III because my contract isn't up for another year and might as well wait for the IV to come out by then.

I work in Chicago but live in northwest Indiana so I can tell you that if you are looking for speed pick the skyrocket. My fiance has an i777 and she love's it but she also never goes into Chicago for the LTE. It also costs more to take on an LTE contract as I had to take a bigger data plan. I have fooled around with her i777 to root and flash new Roms for her. Both phones have plenty of Roms and great development communities. So to he honest I'm probably biased cause I own the skyrocket but have a good amount of knowledge on the i777 and would pick the skyrocket. LTE ROCKS

My wife had the GS2, and the difference between it and the SR is very noticeable. She tried getting me to switch phones with her. The extra screen real estate is very nice, and JB is smooth.

I had both and I prefer the I777 as I don't do much browsing off Wi-Fi. Both on stock gingerbread and the I777 was noticeable faster. But, LTE is amazingly fast. So, take your pick.
BTW, I switched because I overall, people online said it wasn't a big difference I would notice.

Best bet is to test them out.

get a I727 the I777 is just outdated. Played with both side by side and i727 kills it in all categories.

I can say that I have had the S2 i777, the S3 (hated the home button), and also a HTC One X. Each time, I have dismissed each device because I like my Skyrocket i727 best. The LTE Speed in my area averages 38Mb and the constant development of new ROMs keeps me happy. Right now I'm using SkyJellyBean and I'm not looking back, this is Jelly Bean 4.1.2 with the S3 TouchWiz.
