[Q] V4A on AOSP Roms?

Has anybody had success getting V4A to work on the kitkat roms? If so which rom were you using? Were you able to get xHifi working also?
Is there any other sound mod? I've been googling around, but can't find anything reliable. Are you guys just going of stock?

V4a thread seems to suggest that it will work with 4.4 but only fx xhifi has been discontinued. Haven't tried it though
