[Q] VolumeUP and VolumeDown broken...so what can I do now ?

Hello there.

My rooted Desire HD has got broken: volumeUP and volume DOWN buttons dont' work any longer. This means I cannot select items in CWM any longer.

How can I update my current ROM bypassing CWM ? Maybe using only ADB ?

You can still use cwm.

just use home and menu to go up or down

Thanks...but it's not gonna work.

Pressing home or menu makes only menu list on screen disappearing and image with "hat and cirle" getting more visible. Don't undestand what it means and it works so.

I am running CWM 3.0.0.6

Any idea ?

You can use the important features out of the CWM Manager in Android - the few you can´t can be replaced through files (Wiping etc.).

And...this is the wrong board for this.

MENU is changing items and POWER is ok button..

And when you boot, here is a program to change the volume.. You can place a widget on home screen for easy access.. My buttons are gone too

Send your phone back to htc, u should have a warranty on it. it happends to me too.

And yes, wrong section. This should be in general. A lot of people have got this problem

I launched ROM manager, have updated CWM to the latest version. That version does allow using Home and Menu buttons also.

you can buy it from ebay like me and it is easy to repair it just put it hole of cell phone.

Are only your buttons broken or loosen or is the board damaged?
My buttons were also broken when i wanted to clean my phone and I build some buttons for my own, but also buying the original ones is not expensive...
