not a huge fan of anything named 'location service' it might be my paranoid tinfoil hat wearing side, but this has me curious

service motolocation /system/bin/sh /system/bin/am startservice -n com.motorola.android.locationproxy/com.motorola.androi
d.locationproxy.LocationProxyService
class late_start
disabled
oneshot

on property:gsm.mot.locatonproxy=start
start motolocation

It is nothing.. location service is part of the "google experience" as far as i know... personalized search results... for example.. when you open the browser and it goes to the google home page.. if you allow location service it will show your approx location (for relative search results) .. also location service can be used for google maps.. when GPS is disabled it may use the location service to triangulate your approximate location based on reception between towers...

I am not 100% sure if i am correct... location service may be used for both things i mentioned.. or only one of them.. heck.. maybe neither.. but i saw no one replied.. and i thought i would give it a go :)

I know you can go to settings and disable most of the location service options...
