anyone do any PPSSPP testing?
I always grab from the repository, not from Google Play.

The current version (v0.9++) has a menu that can be navigated by the Ouya controller. This control scheme doesn't translate to in-game unfortunately, so you'll still have to set up an in-game control scheme first before trying to run a game proper. With the new controller-supporting UI tho, its a cinch compared to when I had to use the touchpad.

The only key that isn't recognized is the Ouya key. (Comes up as Native+.??). The rest seem to use the iCade format, with ABXY for OUYA.

There's no way to get back into the main menu after loading the game, because the Ouya has no back button. The mapping was recently put back in, I gotta test that...

Don't turn multithread on, it flickers. (I also doubt its stability on anything above 2 cores. Multithread didn't crash on my S2, but FCs at unpredictable parts of any game on the Ouya. The Ouya's much faster than the S2 tho, so I doubt it needs multithread enabled.)

I'm quite new to OUYA, it's good to hear the emulators on the built-in store (not Google Play) is the way to go... anyone just try and just use RetroArch for everything instead of all the individual ones?

I just finished a complete playthrough of Ocarina of Time in Mupen64Plus AE, and only experienced occasional slowdowns during cutscenes or boss battles. Glide64 is the graphics plugin you should be using, and turn the resolution down to improve performance. Luckily there was a guy on campus with the tools to extract the game from my friend's cartridge, so we got to play it on the Ouya higher than 640x480 :)

The Ouya is not turning out to be the emu powerhouse I was hoping it to be :/
It is for most emus, just not all, and it's definitely improving. The Tegra 3 / 1GB ram SoC it uses was practically outdated at its launch last year, just look at the 40nm process it was built on. Certainly it would be awesome if it had a Snapdragon 600 or 800 with 2GB ram but wouldn't have cost $99. The OUYA as is, does MOST emulators very well. I highly recommend using a couple Dualshock 3's, they are more response, better designed, use Bluetooth, and are USB rechargeable. :good:

My summary of each emulator I use:

  1. RetroArch: MAME - any 80's arcade games are perfect including The Simpsons/Turtles in Time/X-Men; PSX - runs well, Castlevania Symphony of the Night (masterpiece) is the only one I've tested; Quake - runs great; Doom - doesn't run at all for me, tried a bunch of WADs could get it to run, I'd love to get Doom up.
  2. Snes9x EX+: excellent, works with everything tried
  3. NES.emu: excellent, works with everything tried
  4. MD.emu: excellent, works with everything tried
  5. Mupen64 Plus AE: excellent with Mario 64, Star Fox 64 and GoldenEye. Perfect Dark crashes. That's all I tried. All games render out at HD resolution (1080p) at 30fps near flawlessly, if you lower it to 800x600 or 640x480 (original N64 res) you'll never get a frame drop.
  6. MAME4droid Reloaded (sideloaded): Used this for CPS-1 and CPS-2 games, namely Super Street Fighter II and Marvel vs. Capcom, runs excellent but controllers have to messed with quite a bit to get button setups right, again it's not a native OUYA app so not surprised.
  7. XBMC v13 alpha1 (sideloaded): works well with the Ethernet/USB fix (echo 16384 > /proc/sys/vm/min_free_kbytes) that's built into StockPlus. This should be perfect by the time v13 is finished.

My only regret is that aFBA crashes immediately on it. It would've kicked MAME4droid's behind.

Supern64 works GREAT!

http://www.apkdad.com/supern64-n64-emulator-3-0/

Its retarded and says its not compatible in the play store.. So now rooted or not you can sideload! Mupen64 kinda went wonky recently so I looked around and the gui for supern64 is identical to mupen soooo no learning curve.. I was enjoying me some majoras mask just a bit ago

Mame4droid analog sticks

Hi, I'm on CM11 and it's working really good so far!
Only problem (that I had with the stock rom too) is that the analog sticks don't work in mame4droid, I can only use the d-pad.. Do you guys have the same problem?

Nevermind, I found out by myself... I disabled the controller autodetection feature in mame4droid settings and everything now is working...
