my dhd is a year old and after downgrading for perm-root and s-off i got stuck in a boot loop. i tryed flashing recovery in fastboot but i get remote not allowed tryed installing pd98img.zip but i think my gold card failed because i get cid error damm branded phones. so i tryied running tmobile ruu with no luck stuck in boot loop. i cant find another tmobile ruu or ota's so im stuck.... so basicly phone is still in warranty and i need to brick it so i can send back for warranty repair without them knowing its been downgraded from gingerbread to froyo.... thanks in advance

not to brick but to repair:
have you done eng s-off too? seaech fot a thread in dev section, by jkoljo i think
if eng s-off applied, you should be able to flash recovery via fastboot
when u get that working, from recovery format all partitions except sdcard and flash new rom
edit: eng s-off tool

i thought you can run the s-off tool from hboot. i read the op and it doesnt say anything about that, so dont try. i think it shouldnt do any harm, but still, dont try that!

and there is one thing that doesnt make sense:
you say that you got stuck after downgrade, but later you say your hboot says s-off. did you use hack kit or sth? what happens if you try to go in recovery from hboot? also try wiping data from hboot
edit: wipe data is called factory reset in hbot

I would not worry too much about them finding out you downgraded your device.
I sent my first one back (vibration motor failure) loaded with CM7. It came back with CM7.
The second time I sent it back (same issue as first) it had MrGaraks MIUI ROM (best IMO :)) that came back factory reset and restored to 2.36.405.6

Unless you "agreed" to waiver your warranty with the Official HTC Bootloaded Unlock, then software modifications do not void your warranty. Search for jkoljo's thread confirming that too.

I'm going to close this, as you could quite easily "brick" your device with a 6 inch nail & a hammer. No need to create a thread.
XDA is here to better & prolong the life of our handsets, not to destroy them.
