[Q] What is the purpose of CWM for locked bootloader

Hi, in the development thread I saw a CWM for locked bootloaders. Would this mean that you can install 3rd party roms with a locked bootloader? I thought you need to unlock your bootloader to install 3rd party roms? What is the purpose of that CWM ROM for locked bootloaders?

Some roms CAN work with a locked Bootloader look over at the old X10 forums.

With cwm, u can flash custom mod like the acid audio or pureXaudio even with a locked bootloader just like what I did on my xperia ZL. But current cwm for locked bootloader is buggy. Dont really recommend you to waste your installing it..

Currently there is no custom rom for XZL that support locked bootloader.
