I rooted my phone using z4root
My question is what do i do next? Ive been reading the wiki page and it says to deodex my phone. I also have a rooted evo and the roms i use on that phone are already deodexed and i use clock work recovery.
Does the clockwork recovery work with the X? I really just need to know what to do next and what rom is recommended.

Clockwork works with the X. You can get it here: http://www.koushikdutta.com/2010_08_01_archive.html the bootstrap comes with CWM.
I've been using fission rom for awhile now and I like it. I also used Apex and Rubix and didn't have any big complaints. Installing a rom will deodex for you.
ok just to double check this is what im gonna do.

1. download and apply the bootstrap that was provide with the link above.
2. download the fission rom manager and use that for rom and theme.

also does fission rom manager offer a nandroid backup or will i have to use clockworks rom manager for that?

The application "Rom manager" is just a way of managing clockworkmod. FRM also manages clockworkmod. Either way you can hold down the back button while booting and use clockworkmod manually. Both apps use clockworkmod to do nandroid backups, and install roms/themes/etc.
