I messed around with the ROM's on a Nook Color back in the days and stopped @ Gingerbread Bootable SD card and left the EMMC in tact. Been using it for a good while along with a TF 300T stock for a larger screen. I picked up a Nook HD on fle-bay and would like to get the most recent stable CM .. I'm guessing Android 4.3 is what's available....?

Can somebody point me to the best Install thread in development section to get this thing up and working quickly with.

* Bootable from SD card
* Android 4.3 or greater / stable
* Prefer CM, because I had a good experience with them on Gingerbread.

Once I get her up and running well, I can tinker a bit, but I really want a usable device pretty quick so I don't have to start over from square one and learn everything again from scratch searching through every thread .... just to figure out where to start.

Looking forward to getting a faster 7" tablet.. FINALLY!!!! I been using the Nook Color far too long

Thanks

Ok, here is my common answer for this kind of problem:

Please read through your device's forums and flash various ROMs in order to decide what ROM fits best for your needs.

PS: I don't even got my HD+, but I know that I will choose official CM - Stable from their website, so please read all threads and answer this question yourself please :)

PPS: THX Dinesh :) :)

I was really trying to aviod having to do that. I did all that 2 1/2 years ago with my Nook Color, it was tedious and time consuming process learning and where to start. Haven't touched that process it in about 2 years ... just used the tablet as is.

I just want the basic CM 10.x stable simple step by step thread - to create a SD BOOT card ( without the extra flavors and variation ) to have a working android tablet. I know I need to learn the install process again ... don't want to take hours of reading mega threads to pick flavor X, Y, Z trying out all flavors of ROM's. I've come to learn I'm more of an android user than hacker.

There's a 'installing cm10 for dummies'thread that you might want to take a look at.

Thanks,

I've seen that, but it's for an install to EMMC. Since this a new device I have to decide if I'm keeping or selling if it doesn't fit my needs, I'd rather test run things on a SD card like I did with my nook color. I've already installed Win32DiskImager... I may be tinkering around with my Nook Color a bit to get familiar with the process again.

IIRC, the Nook Color is pretty unbrickable. Is the Nook HD similarly recoverable?

Also, Is there a similar thread to the " DUMMIES THREAD " but for SD ROM boot.

Thanks
