I will definitely test as well! This is a great phone! I don't know why it doesn't have more support.
This is because Verizon lock down the bootloader so tight if your phone tried to take a crap it would be as thin as a needle and sharp as a knife. There won't be anything for the Verizon S4 mini because of that. And I mean its been available for over a year now, if something could have been done it would have by now..

Sorry,
Sora.

Adding Info to your project.

Guys,
I have installed a custom recovery on my SCH-I435 with Odin and a version of Phil Touch. I have been trying different Lollipop toms, I can get them to work for the most part. Recently the issue has been no sound at all. Would love to try another. If you need anything else, let me know.:)

How did you do that? From what I've read, flashing anything but stock rom on an schi-i435 bricks it.

I435 Root and Recovery

I used Towel Root and the "Philz_Touch_6.48.4-serranoltexx" recovery. Used Odin to flash the recovery. Towelroot is an apk that you can install and run it to get root like a regular app. Then install super su and busybox from google play. then flash your recovery using odin....need anything else just ask....

Not yet still working on it. Also the current Roma are for GSM phones. If yours is CDMA like mine you will need an app called Advanced Signal Status from the app store to change it.

No more rooting for this phone.

Thank you for taking the time to get something working for this phone. I just got this phone and it seems I might be SOL, but do you know of any new way to root thus phone? It seems that the Towelroot and saferroot options no longer work.

Yes it is, just checked baseband. What did saferoot do when you tried it? My baseband is the version just under yours according to Sammobile.

Are you concerned about tripping Knox? Mine is tripped due to custom recovery but I don't mind.

You might have a locked bootloader.

Verizon locks the bootloader, so you need to start with that step first. Google "unlock bootloader S4 mini" and see what you get.
