I can say that though I love sense 3.0 and my sensation I miss a nice mdj rom on my hd2. That thing was buttery smooth. Thankfully I won't have to wait long don't hate on my s-off sensation.

Remember, there is only 568mb of ram available since 200 is reserved for the gpu. But yeah, it seems sense is extra bloated, because accounting for all the apps that it says is running, plus my current free ram of 72mb, sense plus the os seems to use up around 350-400 mb

The task manager isn't accurate as far as I'm concerned. The real amount of RAM is displayed in Running Services.

How to disable syncing for stocks?

Few options...
Uncheck the "tell htc" thing
Uncheck the "check for software update" thing
Disable syncing for those apps whom you dont use. Like i dont use stocks and news so i have their syncing disabled.
I hope it will work for you.

How did you disable syncing for stocks? When I look at the update schedule, all I see are options ranging from "every 5 minutes" to "every 4 hours". I don't see a disable or manual option on the list.

Honestly, its been what i expected.

Beast hardware coupled with a new sense 3.0 its going to hiccup hear and there. Overall its been fine for me the occasionally home reload (maybe once every couple of days) besides that flawless.

Its still real fresh everyone needs to stop attacking it and give it a couple of months for some software updates to solve a lot of these issues (or a method root hopefully). I do think HTC really good have polished it more before release.

At least it isnt overheating and shutting off or melting plastics. 98% of problems people are bitching about can be fixed OTA luckily.

This, right here.

The task manager is not accurate in the drop down menu for some reason or another. The one in actual running services is on key, and shows that the RAM is handled just fine!

In any case, I think that this phone is magnificent. I have noticed just a few stutters when I press the menu button on the home screen, but flipping through the carousel and the home screens is as smooth as butter for me, and this is coming from a previous owner of a Nexus One.

The only other stutter I'm seeing is when I press the personalize button, that menu seems to pop up with a stutter but leave smooth as butter, same with the application drawer. Loving this phone though, can't wait until an android version comes out so the dual core can be utilized.

Really??

I must say, I'm a bit surprised at this. Mine's blazingly fast all teh time. i've never experienced any lags, freezes or delayed responses at all since I got it about two weeks ago.

I have both the HD2 and Desire HD and tried a countless number of Android roms on both of them :D. However, in all honesty, the Sensation even with the bloated stock Rom and locked bootlader without root knocks the pants off all of them.

It has met my expectations very well :)

Really enjoy the phone but if you play with an Evo 3D you'll wonder why it runs so much smoother than our Sensation. Hopefully, software/sense updates will take care of some of this.

This was definitely a huge problem for me and I had tried all the fixes posted here. I finally found out what was causing my problem-the News Widget. Previously Sense was restarting and all widgets were constantly updating. Once I removed the News Widget everything seemed to be running much quicker.

Frankly, I've used the Galaxy S II, the EVO 3D and the Sensation (my Asian Sensation at least) and the latter's UI doesn't feel any more sluggish or laggy compared to the former two.

I've noticed that most of the complaints are from T-Mobile users. I'm using an Asian one on Wind and there's practically no bloatware of any kind. I've also tried other launchers like LauncherPro Plus and ADWLauncher EX (yes, I paid for both) and they actually felt slower than Sense 3.0.

The lag is most likely due to t-mobile (poor) customization with the rom. I have seen videos comparing the Sensation 4G and EVO 3D, the EVO 3D does run more fluid. But I have also seen non-US Sensation running Sense as fluid as EVO 3D.

People has been suggesting that the Sensation 4G is more laggy because it has less ram than the EVO 3D. Not true. Yes, as a matter of fact the Sensation 4G has less ram than the EVO 3D, but that is not the reason for the lag. Unless your device constantly has less than 30-50MB FREE ram, that extra amount of ram the EVO 3D has doesn't come into the equation. Just like installing extra RAM on your PC while you are not utilizing them won't make your PC any faster.

In any case, it is definitely software problem and hopefully an OTA from t-mobile will fix the lag.

it is software cutomization sure as the dhd runs sense 3 perfectly and it has the same amount of ram ...... so it is just a matter of time until s-off and we can get more faster devices

I have the unbranded Sensation and it doesn't seem as smooth as it should be.

This is my 4th sensation and every one of them has been every bit of a flagship phone for the first day or 2. Man this thing is super fast and responsive. To bad when the touchscreen starts acting up its gonna feel slow again... I betcha the complaints of sluggishness has something to do with touchscreen issue.... Thats how i feel afer 3 of them...4th is 2 hours old and the fastest phone i've ever used.. No glitches smooth as butter. When my last 3 had the TS issue, which was most of the time, when the screen would become responsive again for whatever reason, it felt super fast again. Only lasted a few hours each time though. Coming from Oc'd EVO With CM7
