I live in Australia, and the release for the new Nexus 7 is apparently to be in September D:
Do you guys reckon that the reason for this is that there'll be different versions for different countries like the S4 or that they just wanted to make sure there was stock in all countries first?
I'm really tempted to buy the device and get it forwarded from America to Australia.

What do you guys think?

I think its because they wanted to avoid the chaos that was the 2012 release.
If they had done an international release it probably still would have taken a few weeks to get all the shipping sorted.
This way instead of people ordering and complaining that they waited a month, they wait to order then know it will be within 2 weeks or so of the ordering date.

Being a nexus device I doubt we'll see vastly different hardware, probably just the radio in the 4G version.

At least this way we hopefully will skip the initial release issues.

Nope, They won't do different versions for different countries, Here in Egypt it'll take forever to be available.. I want to import it from USA this week.. but after reading about some Manufacturing defect in screen or whatever, I'm afraid to do :(
