[Q] Windows Update via N4 tethering fails?

Hey guys,

I have an N4 on AT&T tethered via USB to a Windows 7 PC.

Tried setting it up as a public network and a private network. Internet always works, webpages load in IE, pings to Google fine.

But Windows Update keeps failing with error 80072EE2, which seems to be a connectivity issue. There is no proxy server set in Windows.

If connected to local WiFi, with no changes in settings, Windows Update will work fine.

Has anyone run into this before? Are there any particular APN settings or tethering settings that need to be changed for Windows Update to work via USB tethering on N4?

AT&T is actively filtering out any traffic to the microsoft site for windows updates, just like they do with torrent traffic. BTW, I hope you have a proper data plan for tethering since AT&T knows that you are tethering due to traffic coming from your phone to the windows update site.
