The other ~200Mb are reserved for webtop.

So that means performnz wise galaxy s2 has more ram????? Cant we use that other amount of ram smhw??
Considering that at anytime you will always have aprx 400Mb of free RAM due to gingerbread's process management, you wouldn't notice any difference in performance if that 200Mb were enabled for use with Android instead of webtop.

And I highly doubt that it will ever be enabled for use by anything other than webtop. Its not going to be there in CM7 b/c for it to be accepted by the CM team, all the original features must be there (fingerprint scanner, webtop). I also doubt any other developer is going to take the time to figure out how to enable that RAM because I would think it's somehow hardware managed so that flashing different ROMs doesn't take that RAM away from webtop.

someone needs to calm down and take his meds.

there is ram used by the system and webtop...but it doesnt matter
you arent being 'screwed' out of ram.

as for the lag, you need to clear dalvik cache and /cache then reboot
are you unlocked and running a custom rom?

Are you on the OTA MotoBlur'd 2.3.4? If so, thats a good possibility why it is slow/laggy. That ROM is extremely bloated and very few people have had good experience with it.
Thats funny, I'm using the OTA 2.3.4, and its faster than any ROM I've used so far... My own tweaks added here and there. My own tweaked theme... Real world performance is better an any current ROM and its far more stable.

Wiping dalvik cache is done through advanced options within a CWM recovery (I use Romracer's 3.2). It really is a shame to have this phone and keep it leashed (locked and stock). Only my mother is allowed a stock Atrix so if I brick mine, I can take hers. PM me if you want help getting your phone to where it should be. Good luck,

you might actually be able to accomplish this on stock unrooted, etc. the dalvik cache isnt some mysterious location, its in /data/dalvik-cache
you might be able to open up a terminal and type:
rm -rf /data/dalvik-cache/*
then it would be rebuilt upon next reboot

okay no yelling ell me wha to do! and for my question plz answer..!
you sure are demanding.

If you have rooted, you can install the old CWM (A/C charger tethered version) and boot into recovery then wipe dalvik.

I've had no good luck with anything that was meant as stock for the Atrix. I've found that every other ROM is a lot faster and more stable than the stock. But as I said, some people have had good luck with it.
