just realized the CWM6 backups made of Terra ROM are not going to be restorable with CWM5 if i need to.

Actually, the incremental backup feature of CWM6 is very useful on a X-U with limited internal memory!

Have googled, all the guides i found either used a windows installer (.bat) or included kernel for unlocked BL only.

Is it possible to repackage the linux installer or has anyone does this please? i don't want to risk bricking a phone doing this myself.

This is what i was previously using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1948455 (5.x)
and Terra ROM includes a CWM 6.x http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40447201 which is slightly buggy btw, some CWM options cause a hang but important stuff seems to work.

Not sure if this is an issue i may be able to
install stock ICS > Root > install CWM 5.x > install Terra with CWM6 > use CW6 to load another ROM, but awkward?

edit: whilst i'm here, i have another question about nandroid backups:

If i have two Xperia-U (which i should hopefully once my first is fixed by Sony..), can i restore the Nandroid from one to another? assuming same CWM version etc.
