I read an article that Motorola Xoom have the same modem than iphone4.

this modem can support HDSPA+ with a simple firmware upgrade. anyone knows that it is possible?

i'll go this weekend to Miami, and i wanna buy a xoom, but i'm not sure if 3G connection will work in my country. I need HDSPA+ compatibility and i want to use xoom to navigate in the car with google navigation.

i know that 3g theetering is possible with another mobile phone "i have a samsung galaxy s" but it's usefull if i need to connect everytime the teether of the mobile phone to the tablet.

Verizon's Xoom and Verizon's iPhone are both CDMA devices, it's almost 100% likely that you will not be able to connect it to another countries carriers - unless they happen to be CDMA as well, but since you mention HSDPA+ - I will assume that they are GSM.

There are 2 iPhones in the US, a GSM iPhone and a CDMA iPhone. Verizon's is CDMA only.

The Xoom and the iPhone could be using the same modem, I don't know the radios off hand, but they will be CDMA radios, not GSM.

Hope this clarifies.
