Hey All Geeks :D

So, i decided that it's time to get a tablet, and finally found that Android 3.0 is the long-awaited, dream OS for me. But here is where the problem kicks in (Bad English?). Xoom and GTab2 (Easier name) are bothi running the almighty Honeycomb... so now i'm confused which one to get? i've been thinking for a week now, but my experience isn't as your (Geeker people and Devs :p) experience and i thought i would ask you if you don't mind. So, far what i want is: Continuous Development ( because i'm NOT a Dev so i'm putting my faith in you guys and going with the tab you're choosing)

Extra's:

Pro's of Gtab2:
Design is Gorgeous...
Light weight...

Con's of Gtab2:
No SD Card
No MicroUSB

Pro's of Xoom:
MicroUSB
SD Card

Con's of Xoom:
Typical Design (not really bad but not innovative)
bad rear camera position

In short:
I DO want the GTab2 for the Design BUT will i regret getting that for the missing of Micro USB (which is my most concern) and SD Card (Which isn't REALLY bad but bad)

Q2: Which one will have MORE development (assumption)?
(for Xoom Forum): UNLOCKABLE Bootloader means ONLY for Devs? if so, as a normal human (xD JK JK) will i be able to do custom ROMs?
Help!

I absolutely love the backside of the new galaxy tab.... if they were out at the same time, I'd probably get that based on that fact alone.

The idea of working in a dash of ergonomic design into something that by its very nature will be in a hand/hands all the time seems like a natural and necessary step forward.

Honestly, if you don't mind the lack of ports and slots the Tab2 has, there will be 3 major deciding factors:

- The development community for each device (if that matters to you)
- If Samsung will be handling the updates for the Tab2 (may be a bad thing)
- If the Tab2 has an unlockable bootloader

Other than that, why not go for the Tab! It doesn't look bad at all~

I was considering the galxay also, but i really wish it has the sd card and microusb slots. If it did, it would be perfect. Without a microusb slot, how will it connect to a computer, anybody know? It also doesnt have a US release date yet, only speculations. Not sure how much longer i can wait for a tablet.

Get the tab if design and look is more important to you cuz each person has a different perspective about their device. Get the xoom if you have seen what samsung did to their galaxy phones. Motorola isn't the fastest company about updates but better than most, except for htc.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Tab2) is nice, I don't mind with the plastic back (I own Nexus S which has similar built material).

My biggest let down with Tab2 are:
- No USB port
- Only 32 GB internal memory

http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/13/samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-official-tegra-2-honeycomb-dual-camer/

If there is no USB port, how do I connect this thing to my computer to sync files?

I can live without SD card slot, but I need 64 GB model.

Oh well ... Xoom is not that perfect either (Wonky buttons, dimmed screen?).

Probably Toshiba?

The Toshiba had all the right holes, but it looked like it was going to weigh in a bit more than everyone else and seemed noticeably thicker...

Theres an after school special baked in there somewhere, but the Toshiba just didnt do it for me.

Doesnt matter if you have the Money for any device!! Buy one, and trash the one you dont like!! or use the old one for guinea pig trials!!

I would just wait for an unannounced Android Tab with 3.0 coming out in 2 month. With all the Love everyone want. SDXC Slot and Awsome Camera front/rear and HDMI w/o need a Dock!! oh yea not to mention got Dual Core with 64GB. Thats all I can share for now, testing this guniea pig lab rat out. Sucks tho 7 inch screen.

But I love my Xoom for now and Current VZW Tab!!

Good luck OP!! and many who moans to get one too!!

Knowing Samsung's track record and with the posts already out the bootloader is extremely easy to unlock on the Xoom. Making ROMs that much easier. Also the Xoom is a Google experience device meaning if I understood everything correctly that Google has the drivers for the device in hand meaning updates are going to be much faster because Google themselves are developing on this platform and testing new builds of Honeycomb.
