QHD YouTube (root needed)

This successfully opened up 1080p for me but no 1440p.
Ive got the sprint note 4 and the youtube app is a system app so i had to use titanium backup to remove it. Other than that followed all the steps and highest res is 1080 which is way better than 720 but the native res on my phone is 1440 and google is annoying me..

Are you sure the video you were getting is offered in 1440. Try a video from mkbhd

update to the latest version of youtube and change your build.prop to android version 5.0, 1440p is working for me.

Update, YouTube gave me up to 1080p without a problem, better than 720p.

Extract apk. Clear cache & data. Install. No need to edit build.prop..
Enjoy!

EDIT : some are having trouble. .. If you are... Uninstall youtube... Re-install from the play store... Clear cache and data then install the 5+ apk. You should then have 1440 option. Good luck...
