Hello,

I was used to be able downloading official TWRP and simple ROM .zip files for my previous devices (All Nexus Generations). Now switched to Oneplus 3 and I was wondering why there are different Firmware, Modem and TWRP versions around which might be required to be innstalled via different TWRP versions before flashing any ROMs.

Can someone please give me a brief help in regards to "what is/why do I have to/where can I check current versions" of:
  • TWRP Recovery Images
  • Firmware and Modem versions and what is different for ROM .zip files
  • CE (Community Edition) differences to standard Edition versions

Q: Why different twrps?

A: Official twrp can only handly firmware/modem flashes of Cm like ROMs. Flashing a OxygenOs rom [Official] require something which standard twrp does not provide, hence eng.stk created a twrp version which can handle OxygenOs firmware flash.

Q: Community Editions and Stable/Standard builds?

A: You can assume Standard Edition builds to be the official rom which can be used by daily people like someone not nerd enough. Community Editions are the one with possible bugs but with new features. These builds are open for everyone who can download it and flash it. Each user can report bugs and improvements. These things are considered while pushing Standard Edition for all devices.

If you're on Standard Edition. You can only get Standard Edition OTAs.

If you're on Community Edition. You can only get Community Edition OTAs.

To exchange any , a clean flash is needed.

Hope it helps. Thanks
