Quick question here. After I flash my Galaxy SII with the CyanogenMod, if for some reason I want to go back to the previous rom that I backed up, do you always have to do a WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition) before you flash the new rom?

Apologize for the noob question.

Quick question: Don't have the necessary amount of post to post this in the following forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285823

When I got to apply the zip from the sdcard, I get the following error:

e: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

Yesterday, I flashed the CLOCKWORKMOD-RECOVERY FOR GALAXY S II (AT&T) and rooted it. Then I installed Rom Manager, made a few backups, etc.

When I open Rom Manager, I do see the following:

Current Recovery: ClockworkMod 4.0.1.5

Now, I believe this might be due to installing the ClockWorkMod in the Rom Manager, would this be the issue I'm facing?

I had this issue as well. I reverted back to stock and rooted/flashed CWM from the xda thread instead. ROM Manger version of CWM must be for international only.

Also, theirs a update.zip in the root of the sdcard. When I go to apply it, i get the same error message as above.

E: failed to verify whole-file signature and so on.

Do I need to apply this zip at all?

Okay, was able to install the rom. I was doing it wrong. I needed to power off the device, then press Vol up and power. Some reason, getting into CWR that way seems to work, rather than when you boot into recovery from the Rom Manager app.

I'm surprised that worked. It should be VolUp + VolDn + Power.

Don't use ROM Manager. It caused nothing but problems on the Infuse, and is causing nothing but problems here. Use the CWM included in every custom kernel that has been posted here so far.

Sorry, I meant to say both Vol Up and Down + Power.
