I want to buy Note 8 next week, but before I buy it I want to know the best way to protect this phone.

Regarding the front glass, It looks like none of the conventional tempered glass work well right ? I concluded after reading many previous theads that only Whiestone tempered glasses work. If I am wrong please correct me.

Whitestone is very expensive, I don't live in US and I have no such a thing in my country, so I have to pay its cost + 15 $ for internation shippng, that's 60$ for a tempered glass that is given 3.5 stars rating on amazon, I feel it is a big gamble. I found another company called SGfresh Idea ]that applies the same principle to its tempered glass for 23 $ which is half of what Whitestone asks. Still expensive but If I can guarantee decent result I would give them a try. However I couldn't find any reviews on their product, so If anyone tried Sgfreshidea for their note 8, please share your opinion on them. Their website is sgfreshidea. com

For the back glass, I read many recommendations for Spigen cases, but I hate the shape of their cases. I really like the Alcantara case, but I am not sure if it is enough to give protection to the back glass, any opinions on this case please ?

I also would like to ask about rhinoshield bumpers. There are some famous youtube channels claim that the rhinoshield bumper protect the phone from any fall. They show videos where they throw the phone and do some drop tests but I am not convinced. Does it protect the back and front glass? How does it do so?

Which would be a better option .. Tempered glass + Alcantara case or rhinosheild bumper ?

Thanks in advance :)

I've thought about a tempered glass as well but I ended up getting the IP68 rated Punkcase simply because it covers the entire phone, doesn't add too much thickness, finger print still works through the case, wireless charging & Samsung Pay works. I know even though the phone is suppose to be rated IP68, water can get in the charging port and you have to wait about 12hrs before you plug it in to charge. Not that I go near water a lot but I can use my Note as a radio in the shower without worries. Now I would like to try and see if a tempered glass would be thin enough to fit inside of the Punkcase.

Search Amazon fie full adhesive tempered glass screen protectors. Theres quite a few now. I personally am using the Singularity brand, but I noticed they just raised their price by about $5.

Galaxy Note 8 Screen Protector, Singularity Products Galaxy Note 8 Full AB Glue Tempered Glass Screen Protector Easy Installation Tray [Case Friendly] 3D Curved Glass Protector Film for Galaxy Note8 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077GSJ55T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_mLGxAbA1YCB78

I'm actually going to switch to the Zagg Curve Elite, which is a full adhesive. Its expensive at $50, but comes with a lifetime warranty. You break it, they replace it. It just costs $6 shipping for the replacement.

As far as cases...I like simple TPU cases. Ringke Air is my favorite.

I am not concerned about water. I am more worried about dropping the phone

Thanks for giving advice.

Do you think the Singularity full adhesive is the same as the other full adhesive protectors? Not withstanding the Zagg Elite which apparently is a new design.

Yes that's it.

@Mr. Orange 645
do you think Singularity tempered glass would be compatible with Alcantara Samsung Case?
I don't have the Alcantara case so I cant say 100%, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. It's pretty case friendly.

I think they're all the same. I can't say that 100%, but I'd bet they are. These companies on Amazon don't make their own TGSP. They buy them from a supplier and relabel them. Same with tires, paper towels, cereal, milk, etc...
