I am rooted, unlocked, and on 4.1.1 VRALJB. Can someone please provide a link to the update.zip for the latest update to 4.1.2? Having a little trouble finding this. Or can I just use Odin and flash it like it says to on section 1b here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207 ? I want to be 100% sure as to not screw anything up.

Thanks in advance!
Hi it sounds like you are really looking for something as close to stock 4.1.2 are you can get. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261478 flash the odex file in the custom recovery your using, wipe data factory reset, cache and dalvik. no need to mess with update.zip. and odin in that post is to return to stock and locked up again as if you were going to return the phone lets say.

haha we should have just continued this coversataion in the other thread. thats the one

Not bricked so far

I used [Jailbreak][Root][Recovery] No You Verizon -VRAMC3 --update 10MAY13 to gain Root had an error at the very end. Phone booted back to home screen, I looked in app drawer and SuperSU is there. It didn't load into TWRP like the video said.
Am I Cool to install a Rom or do I need to install TWRP seperately. Running Verizon SCH-I605.
Below is my Error Log
http// pastebin.com/PB4zF2r7 I can't post link put a space in between

Thanks

Okay I haven't been able to find the answer to this one, or maybe I haven't looked in the right places. When I first flash a ROM it boots in and works fine. But when I try to shut down/reboot it gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy black screen until I reflash a ROM. Any ideas?

VZW Note ii noob still trying to get Casual to work- Day 4

I am having the same problems trying to get Casual to unlock , root, recovery a brand new Note ii.

Get an error in the log that says it cant open the ~overview.txt file (disclaimer that is supposed to show in the Casual window)

It gets to the point of saying that it is opening a ZIP file of some sort and it goes no further.

So far I have tried:
Multiple PCs - laptop with Windows 8. Laptop with Windows 7 (Dell and Acer)

Multiple versions of Casual (mostly from August 2013)

Multiple USB cables including the one from the Note ii Box and one from my S3 (now the wife's S3)

Multiple USB ports on each PC

Removing all security software , shutting down windows firewall

Installing Kies testing shutting it down

Samsung downloaded drivers

Removing everything Samsung with USB DeviceView and rebooting and plugging in again and installing drivers.

No Drivers and just letting Casual try to install the needed drivers

Installing the SDK and using ADB to verify that I can see the device (ADB devices shows the device)

Trying some ADB commands like ADB reboot download - works

Booting into Download Mode then trying Casual

oh, yes and installing the newest Java and uninstalling all the old versions using the Oracle Java removal tool

Installing the JDK

BTW I can see the device in Windows and both internal and external SD card

Tried without external SD card

What happens is that (at times with some versions of Casual) I can see the Device COnnected turn green.
I press the Do It button and wait and then the button is gray and the after about 30 seconds it goes back to normal again.

Anyone have any ideas?

BTW Have quite a bit of experience with Odin root66 Kies etc on my OG Droid, DX, GNex , S3 but returned an S4 after I was stupid enough to accept The ME7 update. (Should have known that when VZW does something out of character -> be suspicious)

should I just return the Note ii (still well within the Best Buy 15 day period)

I cant stand the idea of having a locked down device. Maybe I should just by a phone already unlocked and then not be under obligation to ZVW. Just ranting now.

Any help appreciated.

Back tonite to check for any hints or tips.

Michael

Linux Live CD (Ubuntu?) Use WUBi to install Linux on my Win 7 laptop then try casual on Linux ??

Thanks

Noob Here HELP Please Stuck at Samsung Screen

Bought a phone off of eBay. Will not show a charge. Only gray battery icon. Will charge when turned on. Will only turn on by these 2 methods:

1. Volume up + Home + Power = Samsung logo screen. Will not enter recovery. Only goes blank and reappears if I hold them continuously.

2. Volume down + Home + Power = Odin Mode

Screen shows:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SCH-I605
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: No
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
DEVELOPER MODE: No

After many tries I successfully reflashed with odin 3.07 with t0ltevzw_root.tar.md5

Reboots

No change.

Just looking to return to stock

HELP

Thanks to team CASUAL!!!

Couldn't get it working with the latest nightly build after over a week of trying with a clean install of Win7 Ultimate. Finally went back to build 515, and it worked on the first try. This site was helpful too. (Sorry for the cut & paste, but I don't have 10 posts yet)

Thanks again guys!

I felt the need to create a thread explaining things a bit better. Lets get started shall we!!

1) As most folks know the I605 Galaxy Note 2 shipped with a locked bootloader. This means you Can Not flash any custom roms/kernels/ or recoveries until you unlock the bootloader!! Failure to comply will result in a yellow triangle stating "unsupported software detected"!

2) If you flashed custom software on your device without unlocking, please refer to Section 1B of my GUIDE in development section. This will bring your device back up and running in stock condition!!

3) Now you can proceed to Adams latest "Jailbreak" thread for for rooting/unlocking/flashing a custom recovery. Make sure to only use the method that applies to the firmware/bootloader version that was previously on your device.

VRAMC3 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272066

VRALL4 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2118348

VRALJB- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043636 (Unless you purchased this device within the first month of release, and never accepted a OTA, Do Not use this link).

4) And last of all, folks never accept any OTA's!! There is no reason to!! Now that your device has been rooted, unlocked, and running twrp recovery, you can now download any latest update.zip from the dev section and flash in recovery. The Devs here are always fast at packaging up the OTA into a zip format so we can update via cwm or twrp recovery. There are a couple reasons why I prefer this method,

1. Future OTA updates may relock the device permanently! There is no gurantee a unlock method will be achieved for the next OTA.

2. .Zip roms are normally smaller, so they take less time to download and imo are easier to install.

3. OTA's can sometimes fail and soft brick the device.

So please read through this thread thoroughly and remember research twice, flash once! Hopefully this helps...:good:

thanks for you share

Another noob issue

Neither ODIN (several versions) nor Casual recognize the SCH-i605, and Casual does not seem to have installed a USB driver per Jeremy Loper's video, as I don't show such a Samsung driver in Device Manager.

I used TWRP and Cleanrom, all seemed to go well, until WiFi stopped working. I used ODIN 3.09 to install a stock ROM, but after trying to use TriangleAway, now I cannot get to Recovery Mode, only Download.

So, now:
- I can't get to Recovery, only Download,
- Neither ODIN nor Casual see the device

I'd be happy to get back to a bone-stock device and take OTA updates. Any advice?

Blue screen o death.....

Started adam's casual process for my note 2...updated the Verizon USB driver beforehand.....casual seemed to be doing its thing....the phone rebooted...but as it was doing so my laptop got the blue screen and forced a restart....now when ever I plug in the phone via USB...not even opening casual...I get the blue screen. Doesn't matter whether debugging is on or off....

I believe your problem is MJ9 is not for Verizon. Or maybe your phone isn't Verizon in that case your in the wrong area. Good Luck:p

:(Well I've read thru so many threads but can't find a solution to my problem. Its more a windows issue. Everytime I download of the .tar files to restore my soft bricked Note2. I have had no issue downloading other files and I've tried changing internet security settings and disabling ant-virus but no luck. It makes it all the way to the end as i watch the count down and then at the very end it says "unknown network error". Help :(
