Hi NRGY I use your ROM 21680 sense 2.5 cookie 2.0

and when i press and hold power button i get hieroglyphics instead
od normal letters in all 3 tabs

like slide to shut down, or restart, or sleep

and here is a SS of that... do I have to hard reset my phone or to flash him again with same ROM

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I would run Task29 first which will clean out your phone's memory and wipe everything out, including the ROM..then you put the phone on Tricolor mode
and run the RUU ROM update (with the ROM version you downloaded that you want)
it will boot that ROM into your phone and you should not have any problems

Wrong answer (to the problem of strange characters showing). The write answer was already provided twice before your post.

It is customary to quote the post of whoever you are replying to, otherwise it makes no sense to everyone else.

These no background icons

are posted here

EDIT: Added background template used. 64x64 used for the softkey icons; 96x96 used for quicklink icons.

I can't believe YOU did not add your usual RTFM :D

I posed the same question in July; I had never heard of hardspl. If you've never flashed a rom, knowing what to search for is, at best, difficult. There's a lot of conflicting advice, and unlike this thread, it's not always clearly presented.

Consider me the copy editor from hell. ;)

I am downloading the 216XX MaxSense.
On the front page, it doesn't say that the compact menu (quick menu?) is cooked in like the last release.
Is it?
thanx

It is cooked in... there was a problem that I came across that I posted about yesterday (I think?) - also posted the 'fix' that I was able to come up with.

Thank you, I will go back and look.

I flashed the newest MaxSense (see sig) a couple days ago... I just love this ROM!

I did notice a peculiarity, however... when I set up the Compact Start Menu option and then went to set MaxSense to use QMenu to use QuickMenu, there was not link in the programs list. :(

This morning I wanted to see if there was a QMenu anything that I could find - I found nothing in the \Windows directory using TotalCommander nor the other places I looked (admittedly not a lot).
I decided to then try running the QuickMenu executable in the \Windows director to see if that runs the QMenu or if it only runs the options piece. To my delight it does run the QuickMenu (QMenu)!
I then created a shortcut to QuickMenu.exe in the \Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder and set the "Start" Program Link to use that new shortcut.

:D

Hopefully this helps someone else...

Thanx. have this noted.
haven't flashed the new Maxsense yet. My phone is working 100% on the 18 sep version.
but I am tempted!

I got error messages when unzipping the Titanium Rom. I tried to download it the second time but it is still the same.

Indeed you did. :D I didn't even notice you had replied. My mistake.

The only thing is that in your post you mentioned for him to search for Quick Shutdown. That's the one we're using that doesn't support system changed languages. He needs Slide2Shutdown, which is exactly the same thing, just a bit slower. We used to have it cooked in until we came upon Quick Shutdown which doesn't have that annoying lag.

Sorry to correct you but I double checked to make sure and I am using Quick Shutdown and not Slide2Shutdown, and I have no problems anymore with the gibberish on screen. I also don't seem to have any lag with it coming up. I guess this is a case of YMMV.:)

Transparent top bottom.

I have my shell32.exe and aygshell.dll extracted and modified. (see attached) but when I put them back I get hung up on the splash screen
btw: im running Energy.RHODIUM.21680.Sense2.5.DinikGlass.Cookie.2.0.Sep.29
Finally got it working. Somehow I could not extract/repack aygshell.dll from the ROM even though shell32.exe worked perfect. Has same problem with yours and mine files. But I extracted these files files from the 21680 build at chef central repository, hope I have done the Timebomb right. These works now for both Taskbar and menubar. You can also put the files in SD\ and use volDeus BG Tweak v0.6b4.CAB http://xdaforums.com/atta...3&d=1271788254. Enjoy.

I remember reading like crazy from Wiki/forum etc and took me long time to understand the sequence and meaning of the things. You don't even know what to ask. Now some of those stickies like 'before first flash' or FAQs are great.

Yeh If they were playing good, could have seen you in Fair park. Well but then we did not have these beautiful icons. Thanks.

I only meant that he should search for Slide2Shutdown instead of Quick Shutdown. We all have Quick Shutdown cooked in. Slide2Shutdown is the one NRG used to have cooked in. That was the one that supported other regional settings. Quick Shutdown has issues with changing the regional settings. That's why he gets the gibberish on the screen instead of characters.

Slide2Shutdown doesn't have this issue, which is why he should have it installed over Quick Shutdown. The drawback to Slide2Shutdown and the reason NRG decided to swap it out is because of the lag in it.

In any case, I believe we are talking about the same thing, perhaps just crossing wires on the specifics. :)

Not to beat a dead horse, but you answer intrigued me so I went checking. It appears that the version of Quick Shutdown in the ROM is different than the version that I install and with my version (I assume that it is a newer one) the gibberish problem doesn't exist. Maybe NRG can update the version that he cooks in and so solve the problem at its core.

Welcome to the "EnergyROM" thread !

This development thread is for my "Energy" custom firmware series for the HTC Touch Pro2 (Rhodium) device.

This ROM only works on GSM devices, flashing to a CDMA device will make it non-bootable (flash a stock, or CDMA specific ROM, to recover from that).

I do make a CDMA version (Sprint, Verizon, Altel, etc) and that's found here!

The current build numbers and date can be seen in the title of this thread. I usually update the ROMs about twice a week, as new builds come down the pipe or as new software/updates are available.

I build my ROMs with four main goals.

    • Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)
    • Speed !!!
    • Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
    • Stability through private beta testing before public release

I pre-configure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go. So, expect the backlight to be set at the maximum brightness, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the box.

I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization). Backing up with SPB Backup or similar products, is NOT recommended, as they tend to backup the previous release's registry/file bugs as well!

Looking at the download folder you will find two core versions of my ROM.

    • A 21916 Build which is the most reliable and bug free release. It has the Start menu button at the top left corner. This build uses the same stock system that came with your device. This is usually the fastest and most stable build, but it's also the least fancy
      smile.gif

    • A 29022 Build that's the latest in Microsoft's development with the Start menu button at the bottom left corner and big softkeys, making it all very "finger friendly". These builds reflect the latest cutting edge technology from Microsoft. Most people choose this build... Why else would you install a custom ROM ?
      smile.gif
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can stay up to date on the status of my ROM development by "following" me on Twitter.

It's definitely the fastest way to get in touch with me and please don't be afraid to tweet me if you see major issues with the ROMs.
I generally do not answer "support" questions on Twitter, as it's really not the proper medium for that. Service packs and quick fixes will always be released as links in my tweets and that's definitely the fastest way to get a fix for a ROM.

    Rom Self Help Hotfix...

BTW, the rom is easily fixed with the addition of TWO missed dll's & one MUI.
    HTCSensorService.dll
    HTCSensorSDK.dll
    AccelerometerCalibrator.exe.0409.mui

Using the attached cab will fix all issues with the rom.

Those three added to my rebuild & perfecto....Well, there's still a pesky .net issue from time to time, but I think that is from these different net versions.

    Leaving...

After several years enjoying the evolution of Windows Mobile since version 6.0 with Sleuth ROM running on the first Tilt, later on moving to the Fuze and finally to the Tilt2, I am leaving the scene.

I've been playing with Android, and I liked the ability to change and customize it the same way we do with WM, plus the thousands of applications available.

Therefore, I sold my Tilt2 and got an Android phone. I feel a little bit awkward doing it, but the lack of significant developments on the WM 6.x front has been bothering me.

I hope someone will keep the FAQ updated (volunteers, please contact NRGZ so that he could grant you editing rights to that post).

It was a pleasure and an honor to interact with this great community. I appreciate everyone's efforts to solve problems, push the envelope, make our phones more useful and fun devices.

A special and big THANK YOU to NRGZ, for his outstanding ROM and for his flexibility in trying to satisfy our needs.

    See you around on XDA.

    Good evening fellas,

I'm a dutch proud user of touch pro 2 :D
But I am still running the stock rom >_> Starting to annoy me to be quite honest :p

So I was looking at the forum about wich rom is the best for me.
And as I read trough this post I would really like to download and install this rom.
But before I do ... I would like to ask a few question:

    1) I type alot on in with my keyboard out. Does this word correctly and the most impoirtant ... does the 'fn' key work? (as in: can I type the symbols on my keyboard)

    2) I have my calendar items on the homepage. 3 at a time. Do these show in this one aswell? because the pictures don't show any calender items. I sync trough office 2007 almost everything. Contacs, e-mails and the most important is the calendar.

So would I have any problems with these things? or are you guys hitting your head like: dude .... why didn't you upgrade earlyer
    9
    Joe, I'll just say this....

I'm not the type to sit there and enumerate a list of "friends" like Laurentius does. It's corny. I'm also not the type to sit there and "credit" every single developer of every single app in my ROM. I credit major contributors, like Cookie and the guys that designed the themes I use in my ROM variations. In short, I credit who *I* feel I need to credit. But overall, I'm not the "crediting type" of guy.

I know you like to get in the nitty gritty of over explaining your point, but realize you're in the minority here. I ask you to stop please. Thanks.

No more arguing about crap that doesn't really matter... This isnt the Android world where everybody has to be credited. We ALL steal from MSFT and HTC when it comes to WM. I'm sure they don't get a rat's ass if I credit them here. Most of the devs that made the little apps in my ROMs aren't around anymore, which is why I DO credit the ones that matter.

Okay, enough rambling. Please consider this matter closed.
