Ok I quite the newbie so I hope you can bear with what might be a stupid question. First let me say that I love this site and all you guys are great. I use a Mac with OS X so there is no way I can run some of the tools recommended for ROM stuff.

I would however like to take my TyTN II from radio 1.27.12.11 to 1.27.12.17.

I downloaded from http://www.cinetsystems.com/ the KAIS_Radio_Only_1.27.12.17_CustomRUU.rar, and it expands into an RUU_signed.nbh and a CustomRUU.exe . All I have to do is run the .exe to flash the radio? It will not wipe out the data on my device? Do I need to copy both files to the TyTN II or is the .exe self contained?

HALT Noob. Read the rom upgrading instructions first. You must first load "Hard SPL" which will protect you from bricking your phone and allow flashing roms. You need a functional active sync connection to the phone to do this. XP is best, Vista works as well.

After this is done, then yes you would simply extract the two files into a folder and run the exe file. It would then flash the radio only and not effect any of your files or operating system.

Flashing radios takes about 5 minutes when all goes well.

I'll give it a go

Seeing as I've flashed my phone about 15 times in the past 24 hrs to try to [email protected] around and get the bluetooth stack working properly, one more cant hurt!'

Downloaded ... flashing now
