I soft bricked on the mj9 modem. I'm not sure why yet.
I'm thinking it was something else because I am running a heavily modified rom.

But after I flashed the new basebands I was seeing crazy fast battery drain I'm talking faster then 2 amp.
And the next morning I had a random restart that stuck on the boot screen. After battery pull I couldn't get
To my recovery and I Oden'd back to stack and still couldn't boot. So I redid the casual stuff and then hada recovery again so
I was able to flash my full backup from before and I'm good.

Probably not related to the mj9 modem at all but I'm scared of it now lol

I want to make my note into a bluetooth/wifi device. I want to kill the radio so that my son cannot dial out. Basically turn it into a tablet. Ii tried to flash a wifi only zip but it doesn't work. Can a custom modem be flashed to make the radio non functional but keep keep the other parts of the phone operational? I am running beans 23 and android 4.3 with unlocked bootloader.

You could go in system under apps and rename the dialer and add .bak to the end and it wouldnt show up and if you ever wanted to change it back rename and delete .bak.
Or if you have titanium backup you could freeze the dialer and he couldn't use it that way either.

Signal issues

I flashed the 4.3 original stock rom by error, after that I lost my imei, then i flashed this file (toltevzw_mj9_official_firmware.tar.md5) and almost everything works fine again because I have a loss of signal sometimes, I guess I have locked my boot and I cant flash a new recovery how can I test a different radio??...I'm living in Mexico so I need a radio could work in here, thanks in advance.

Does anyone know the recommended approach for re-flashing MJ9 radio firmware? I've been running fine for months on MJ9 and many of the Roms listed in these forums (alliance being the trust-iest) but my GPS recently has acted up and barely works now...hardly ever gets a lock and I've tried all the wipes and kernels and rom re-installs but still nothing. Only thing I can figure now is the radio has somehow been corrupted when it comes to the GPS unless my GPS hardware module has gone bad somehow.
Do I just odin MJ9 again....can't find good info on reloading this.
Thanks.

Yes just Odin it again. But I usually Odin back to stock rom and radio with already unlocked bootloader boot up and test everything and then flashed mj9.

Which Stock Rom and Radio? The original or the most recent before MJ9; VRAMC3? There are a few different threads in these forums that seem legit for this but I'm just a little nervous about flashing something that is going to lock my device permanently; I guess I just need to stay away from Odin'ing the stock MJ9 Rom, correct?

Thanks much.
