Hey man. I restarted this process. Got through the SC Code thingy. And now i'm stuck at "Open device manager and check the COM port of the nexus, note it down."
Looks like the device got disconnected and connected as it was supposed to be in the previous step. But now. it is not showing com port number in Usb devices. I'm attaching a picture for clarifying whats happening with me.

Please get to me asap. Thanks. I'm waiting

I've got the same problem right now! I can't install the drivers. That means i can't see the com port number etc. I don't know what to do. I'm stuck. Did you find any way out of this?

I need some help please!

I made it work, while using Stock 4..4.4, then installed stock 5.0.1, the phone shows the LTE icon, but it won't download faster than 0.5Mb/s, which is very weird, I have tried the same SIM on another phone and it's much faster, 20-30MB/s

My phone is the D821, any help please!???

0.5Mbps is a little slow,
but are you sure that another reference phone is using the same band3 earfcn channel to access the network?
if your operator band3 is limited to 5MHz band width and the reference using another band such as band1 with 20MHz channel,
your problem is possible happen like this.
to check a SAMSUNG phone band and bandwidth, you can use *#0011# dail code,
to check your Operators bandwith in your location, a limited reference is

If you are on lollipop you probably won't be able to able to make it to the COM PORT part if you're using the kernel from OP (That kernel is for Kitkat). Use Hybrid kernel to boot the phone instead and COM PORT will appear in device manager.

@meher91

Just had a one thought as to why you can not install the diag driver.

When you installed "lg_android_31010.exe", did you run the .exe as administrator?

If not, try to install by right clicking on "lg_android_31010.exe" and "Run as administrator"
It might solve your problem.

Installing the .exe file was not the issue. After doing that, the signature of the driver for the COM port was not recognized by my system and so it wasn't working.
Therefore, I disabled the Windows Driver Signature Enforcement by pressing F8 during system start-up and going into the Advanced Boot Options...This procedure worked for me.

Hello there, I'm having a problem here and I'd like your help in this.

Let me starting by saying that when I'm flashing the qcn file, it shows this warning: "The model number in the QCN file and the phone do not match. Do you still want to restore the phone with this file?". I don't know if this happened to everyone and therefore it's normal or if it has something to do with the problem that I'll show below.

I followed every single step of the guide, the kernel I used was the Chainfire one (in 5.0.1).

When the LTE connects (and has a serving tower), my device's network goes off. Then when it goes idle, I get my network again.

I recommend 442 instead of 501 for keep LTE connect easily.

Success on Android 5.1 Lollipop!

I've successfully enabled Band 3 LTE on D820 model running Android 5.1 Lollipop. Here is my setup:

ROM: Calaclysm 15 March version (Android 5.1)
Kernel: Franko.kernel r72 (Android 5.1 version)
Windows 8.1 x64
All files downloaded from OP.

Just followed steps in OP and all went good. I just had my Franko kernel installed so I skipped fastboot kernel install step.
for SPC code I used Catlog app from Playstore and also Nexus 5 Field Test app from Playstore.

Hope it helps someone :)

Good Luck!
