Try this. ..

Enter this with the dialpad: *#*#7378423#*#* then hit Service Info --> Configuration

Under Working Bands you will see a list of frequencies. flashing back to previous baseband you'll see the frequencies changed .
Your code is not working... =/

I know this code works *#1234#

Looking into it. .. From what ive read. . The baseband won't change by flashing the way we are doing so. .. But it's still reported working

I think I figured it out. .. It still flashes the new radio ... its just the updater script needs to be reconfigured to change the id of the baseband.. alejandro is gonna take a look at it

I have a thought....dunno if it can work at all.

I was reading in a thread about AWS, that if you flash a new modem it resets the unlocked apn's. My thought was the modem handles the unlocked apn's, right? So if we got modem images from stock, but unlocked att phones, we could flash those and all the apn's would be open to us...is this a truism? Or is it more complicated than that?

Then it becomes a question of, how do you extract a modem from your phone? I know other people know how, I just don't....

I think its a great idea and would probably work. I can verify that if you flash a new modem the unlocked AWS frequencies are gone. Its easy to reflash from the computer and get them back but it would certainly be even better just to flash a modem zip that has them already opened up.

Very cool! So, how do we go about making this happen? And can I be useful in the process somehow?

If I understand you want to extract a modem from a phone that have aws unlocked and make a flashable zip?

You can post the link of the thread?

Someone with 1337 can confirm that the zips from op work?

Thanks, I will try to help

Yep, you understand fully :)

Here is the AWS thread

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291589

I have already asked if people would please extract their modems from unlocked stock sgs4 variants.

Now, how does that happen? What files do you need and where are they located in the system? (I'm sure someone will ask...plus I don't know either...)
