Is there a MK2 tar for L720

Where can I find the MK2 modem tar for Sprint L720?

Or can someone running that firmware dump their modem.bin, and email it to me?

Any feedback would be appreciate

I have been having full signal drop issues for quite some time now, and am very fed up with it.

I have tried flashing every ATT modem out there, using TWRP and the zips i DL'd in this thread here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2496517

Someone suggested trying to flash via Odin. Seems like there are a few methods, wondering if anyone has any advice on which way to go to shake this issue. Here's more info from my previous post:

"I have an ATT S4, on MDL bootloader, rooted and running Danvdh-GE-4.4.4-06272014 version ROM.

I have been sporadically experiencing full signal loss, for a long while now, and have flashed every radio I could find, so I am hesitant to believe it is just that I need to flash a new radio as others have said.

I also have recently swapped out my Sim for a new one, just to rule that out.

I also notice my "preferred network type" in mobile network setting changes from time to time, even when I set it to GSM/WCDMA auto. Not sure this has anything to do with my problem or that's normal but really want to resolve this, so whatever it takes to fix this please any advice appreciated. Thank you!

Also I am in good LTE area (used to have it all the time) would love to get this fixed BC tired of keeping to H+ signal"

You didn't say you tried another rom unless I missed it. That would be first thing I would do, maybe a stockish TW rom. Then if that don't work, ODIN to stock and start over. You could also try reformatting internal before trying ODIN. :good::)

i think I need to try this. Any suggestions on a good stockish TW rom? the problem actually started when i flashed an earlier version of this same ROM and i have just been suffering with the issue for months now. Trying another ROM makes a lot of sense, and while flashing back to ODIN sucks, I'm sure if that's what fixes it I will be a lot happier in the long run

also, what does reformatting internal mean to do?

I would try iB's Golden Eye rom and flash the full version. It is selectable thru his Aroma installer. Just wipe System/Data/Both Caches 3x thru recovery.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2313469

Formatting may not be correct word on the s4, at least with TWRP. CWM may still have that option and not sure if it actually reformatted. If I remember correctly it erases and rewrites the file system leaving no data bits at all. Not sure if we can do that except maybe thru terminal but forget command line. Haven't been involved with that for a long time and not quite sure if my explanation is correct.

Most just do a factory reset thru Settings/Back Up and Restore. It wipes internal but think it may leave media. I would pull external when doing those things just to be sure ext card is not accidentally wiped.

Some do it all the time others as a last resort, as the card can get too full after awhile with too many directories.

Thanks so much for all the helpful hints. I did flash his rom and I really like it! But I am still having connection issues, and I am also having storage issues. In that it is telling me I am low on internal storage but really I should not at all be. Something to do with cached files that aren't deleted I think. I assume your tip of wiping internal might work at least for that, although on the DL notes for the rom he actually says not to do the full data wipe on TWRP, not sure why..

But both these issues combined I feel like it just makes sense to start clean with ODIN and then flash golden eye from there.

Since I am on MDL bootloader someone else suggested I should flash stock MDL. Going to try find that, want to make sure I flash the right one...I'm not as technically inclined as many on here.

Thanks again for all the help

Odin may be you best bet at this point.

Not wiping data in TWRP is for version 2.5.0.2, I believe. It wipes internal?

I have that TWRP and prefer to wipe thru Wipe/Advanced screen and check the 4 boxes, never any issues on any rom.

Good luck :good:

Advanced Wiped x3 and reset to factory in TWRP, flashed MDB mode and Odin'd back to original stock MDB ROM. Let sit for an hour, then flashed back to stock NC1 TW ROM & Modem. Modem hang in less than a day...anyone else have any ideas how to fix these modem hangs? I don't have any ideas left.

If you are on NC1 you need to be using SafeStrap and its recovery. Then also Selinux too set permissive. Not sure if you have done that.

Rugmankc, do I need safestrap even if I'm on the original MDB boot loader? I use Loki+TWRP for recovery. I thought safestrap was only needed for new KNOX bootloaders? As for Selinux, I've never heard of it, can you link me to some info?

Also worth noting, I've had this modem hang issue on every modem available for the i337 since upgrading to 4.4 ROMS. For this "test" I jumped straight back to an NC1 ROM and modem, but if the NC1 modem is really the issue, I can repeat the wipe+Odin to MDB process and install a Vision-X NF1 ROM and the NB1 modem.

Thanks in advanced for the clarifications.

I got confused on this statement--

Let sit for an hour, then flashed back to stock NC1 TW
ROM & Modem.

I took that to mean you went to NC1 "build" which needs SafeStrap--my error

You DO NOT need SafeStrap--! Sorry

I would upgrade to MDL if you haven't tried that, MDB may be your issue--not sure. I am on MDL and have no issues with any radio/modem.

It could always be a hardware issue--

When you say "upgrade to MDL" what do you mean exactly? Upgrade my bootloader? Would I do that by simply Odin'ing to the stock MDL image?

Yes, you would have to Odin to stock MDL to get the MDL bootloader. Not sure if that is your issue though. But it won't restrict you in any way either. You have Odin exp. (I don't :() so that should not be an issue. The tars are here in one of the threads in General afailk. Or, Sammy site should have them.

I never needed Odin, that's why I done have first hand exp. with it--

I'll give it a whirl and report back in a couple of days.

No dice. Odin'd to MDL, updating my bootloader from MDB to MDL. Left the modem at MDL and upgrade the ROM to Vision-X 4.4.2 i9505 NG8. Tried a different kernel (was on ktoonsez, but tried jeboo this time around), didn't install various apps that I was formerly using to suppress startup services and (boot manager, greenify, etc). Did install Xposed and Wanam. Restored Wifi via Wifi Connection Manager App, didn't restore any other system services/apps. Restored data for various user installed apps via Titanium Backup Pro.

Modem froze the 1st time I traveled away from my home, and then back.

I have no idea what else to do or how else to troubleshoot this issue. I believe I traced the start of the problem to an upgrade from 4.3 to 4.4, so maybe I'll find a nice 4.3 image and hangout there until my hardware can be upgraded.

If anyone has any ideas for troubleshooting or experimenting, just reply to this post and I'm happy to oblige.

Whats the most compatible radio for CM11?

I have an SGH-I337 running jflte with the I337UCUAMDL. I've recently started having problems with my Bluetooth not connecting to my car automatically and not disconnecting at all. Once connected to my car it will stay connected to the car even though the car is off and over 200ft away. Since the bluetooth stays connected my POWERAMP continues to play and drain my battery even though no one is listening to it.

I'm assuming if I update my modem/radio to the most radio or at least to one known to be more compatible, it should fix the problem. Would I still need to loki-doki the phone for the modem update, or is that a totally different issue?
