It turns out that I can still get and hold a 4G signal whilst out of the house, but the signal stubbornly sticks to 3G at home, despite the alleged good coverage from my network. Strange.I changed the whole screen a year ago, and noticed these golden pins... I am pretty sure I didn't replace them as they were before (and some of them were already missing), but I didn't notice any effect on the signal.
Could the antenna wires have been tampered with your operation ? I remember they were not easy to put back in their original spots.
But I would try a full factory reflash and OTA from zui 1.9 to the latest (with bootloader relock) before unmounting the motherboard and check the wires.
I'm a beginner in smartphone repair though, I hope someone with better understanding can really help you !
Still, I suppose being able to get it outside's more important, seeing as I have wi-fi at home anyway.
