All fixed - wrong in a case .....

now I ask you kindly that RILLPHONE use with radio 1.17.25.09. thanks!
Use whatever rilphone you want with that radio (I'd probably recommend the latest one for your Carrier). There's no rilphone for that radio, as it was a hotfix. Some people have indicated success with the Diamond 1.15.25.14 (I think) rilphone. If you search around XDA you should be able to find it.

Just for informational purposes here...

I (finally) found and downloaded the Raph radio 1.17.25.09 on my device after being fed up with the GPS issues I was having with radio 1.14.25.35 (lock times widely fluctuated). I already had the ril for 1.14.25.35 installed.

Having the 1.14 radio flashed I would drop into Edge mode a lot around the city and surrounding areas. GPS lock times fluctuated widely (anywhere from 15 seconds to 45 minutes) and rendered its reliability to that of a paperweight.

Since flashing 1.17 I have not dropped into Edge mode a single time. I am seeing a greater signal strength across the board in all areas that I am normally traveling. GPS lock times are all within 10-15 seconds, cold, warm, or hot boot. Hot boots can expect a 5-10 second lock. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity remain unchanged and there is no noticeable difference between their performance between 1.14 and 1.17.

However, there is a difference in the Raphael 1.14.25.35 ril and the Diamond 1.15.25.14 ril. Performance is the same in all categories between the two except in battery life. I am guessing about a 30% less drain (the percentage could be more or slightly less) on the battery with the Diamond 1.15 ril installed.

Call quality may have changed, I don't know. I haven't really listened for that. :) But there is no echo present, I can hear callers perfectly clearly and they can hear me perfectly clearly. No call drops. It feels as if everything just got better.

For reference I have an HT850K Raph and I reside in the New Orleans AT&T market. I am going to evaluate this throughout the next few days as battery life will settle into its normal cycle.

Edit:

I tested the 1.15 ril for another day but the battery life suddenly decreased dramatically. If I didn't place one call or use the Wi-Fi / Bluetooth, from the moment I woke up with a fully charged battery, I'd go to sleep that night with the phone at about 60% battery power remaining. I uninstalled that ril and reinstalled the 1.14 ril and have seen much better results over the last few days. I am at 97% battery life and the phone has been off the charger since I woke up. I have not used the phone, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth at all. 1.17 radio with the 1.14 ril is a good combination for my area.
I'll give your combo a try and hopefully it will help me out in Socal. Thanks

1.17 Radio with 1.15.25 ril from Diamond gave me much faster lock and stabler GPS signal AND one bar more in a room where I had only one bar of signal.
Probably it will drain more battery. I will write it here, if I will notice it :)

That is Hard-SPL, so you should be fine there. Why don't you try flashing it using the SD Card method?

I don't know what "different" source you got the radio from, but I recommend using the ones linked on the first page, as I know those are packaged correctly.

Hey Captain,

Just wondering what made you pick 1.17.25.09 over 1.14.25.35 ? better gps locks, battery? signal? wifi, 3g speeds?

I was using the 1.14 for quite some time, but someone in here mentioned the 1.17/Diamond 1.15 rilphone combo, so I decided to try it . . . and it's been working great ever since. I get a bar more of signal than with the 1.14, and even the GPS lock is a little bit faster. I was surprised, but pleasantly :).

Also your phone needs to be security unlocked not just unlocked but security unlocked to flash radio's that are from different phones

hi, i am pretty new to the whole tweaking/modding smartphones subject, and was wondering if you could help me with a question that has been keeping me from flashing a new radio (i have terrible reception at my home). I own an AT&T Fuze (I need the 850MHz for the 3g service in my country), so I was wondering if the radio stack affects which bands my phone will be able to use... I know that the proper hardware is needed to use each band, but i don't know if flashing another radio would prevent me from using the 850MHz band. I've been searching for the anwser around, but haven't found it, I would really appreciate any help, thanks!!

hi! some time ago I posted this question, and I haven't been able to get an answer, so if anyone knows I would appreciate any help :p

That's related to phone hardware, not radio. I'd try it and find out, but I'm pretty sure you can use whatever radio and it won't affect what bands you can use.

Radio Possibilities for Bell Canada / Telus / Virgin Mobile Canada

Hi: I'm a rather frustrated Fuze owner. I'm with Virgin Mobile Canada which uses the same network as Bell Canada and Telus. I've been alternating between Energy and TAEL ROMs.

I work in one of the largest buildings in downtown Toronto and I get NO bars - no reception whatsoever - at my office desk. The radio version on my phone is 1.14.25.35. (Most people in my company are on Blackberries - mostly with Rogers - and get excellent reception.)

I know that most people in this thread say that there is no "best" radio and that it all depends on your needs. However, I'm wondering if there's any reasonable strategy to narrow down the options. I don't really want to have to try the 30+ radios listed in this thread. Does anyone have any advice as to how to narrow down the option to even half a dozen? My network is HSDPA 850/1900. I don't even have a data plan. I don't listen to music on my phone. I only use it as a phone so reception and sound quality are essentially my only needs.

Any direction from the experts or from those who are happy with their Fuze/TP on the Bell/Telus/Virgin network would be sincerely appreciated!

Thanks,

Dave

@snsd

I had some trouble with signal on my fuze with bell when i was in scotia bank tower up past the 50th floor.

I think I was using 1.14.25.35, else I was using 1.17.xxx.

by the way, does your fuze always display roaming?

I'm only on the 6th floor of the RBC Centre. I just loaded 1.17.25.09 so we'll see how that goes. Actually, my phone always shows "3G Virgin" (who I am with) and never "roaming". (When I boot to Android 2.3 off my storage card, it shows Bell as the network.)

I just wish there was some way of narrowing down the radio options as it's kind of hard to flash a ROM at work...

Rilphone for radio help

Hi there everyone!
I have just installed the raph 1.17.25.09 radio version on my touch pro and then applied the 1.15.25.14 diamond rilphone. After applying the rilphone my SIM card wasn't recognized anymore, so i guess my raph is still security locked. My question is: can i somehow apply that rilphone version to my phone and make it work without the security unlock? if not... what would be next best rilphone version for raph (i live in Romania)... should i leave the 1.17.25.09 version (does it drain the battery or have bad signal?)?
Thank you!

You might as well just stick with the one you've got, especially if you've already confirmed better battery with the new radio/rilphone combination.

20m1 radio sucks for GPS for me, but radio reeception was ok. GPS took 20 minutes to lock on!

btw MAW did you have the touchlockpro software when you had the 20m1 radio installed? was it the radio not the proggy that did the drain?

okey the same happened to me.. took me 20 minutes to lock.. do you sugget any that might work much better? have you changed or?

    [edit]
i changed to radio 1.02.25.28 and it took 25 sec. to lock 4-5 satellites ;)

i use blackstone 1.10.25.25 radio rom...in my opinion, this radio rom is the best...the gps connection time is max 1-2minutes under full cloudy weather.
