Ram upgrade

Hello everyone
I have an unbranded rk3188 headunit, MCU - MTCB-KLD-V2.79.
I want to upgrade it because it's very laggy and unstable. I know that ram upgrade is enough but maybe it will be better to upgrade the core as well, maybe to an MTCD som (if it's possible).
What are my upgrade options and how do I know which som will work with my unit?

1. No, only MTCD/E are SOM upgradable
