Random Massive Data Usage?

I just flashed the latest unnamed rom last night. When I woke up today, I saw the warning text from AT&T telling me I had used already 65% of my data and I was like WTF!? Then I took a nap and when I woke up, I sent the USSD code to check my data usage and it jumped about 30 MB, just from the 2 hr nap. I checked which applications were running and nothing was running. As for the running services, here's the list


MTP application (1 process, 0 services)
Settings (1 process, 0 services)
DRM Content (1 process, 1 services)
Task Manager (1 process, 1 service)
Synchronize (1 process, 1 service)
Digital Clock (1 process, 1 service)
Calender (1 process, 1 service)
Google Services (2 processes, 1 service)
Media Hub (1 processes, 1 service)
Email (1 process, 2 services)
Swype (2 processes, 1 service)



I only have the 200 MB plan so if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

Ur not the only one. Im on tmobile with the nexus s running cm7 and my data is always climbing. Im on the 2gb plan for $10. When i reach my cap i call and upgrade to the 5gb plan. 10 mins later i call and have them put me back on the 2gb plan and this restarts my data back to 0% and i dont get charged for it. Like a baus.


Maybe this will work on att. Give it a try

Maybe it is resyncing with google and downloading all your contacts and things? Is wifi on at the time too?

Well that is pretty sneaky, and idk if it'll work. I don't wanna upgrade to the 2GB plan and then find out that I can't downgrade until the end of the billing cycle or something and still pay for the upgrade.

Nonetheless, that is just a workaround for what I think is a bug or something unnatural.

Wi-Fi was off, and the contacts and stuff re-synced while I was awake. Also... I do not believe syncing contacts and like 2 or 3 apps should take up THAT much data.

I am on att with miui and I saw similar issue. For me, the offender was tweetdeck but I can't figure out why it made such an activity as i set it never sync automatically - never did with tmo galaxy tab. i also noticed download manager was being used to download a lot as well so i turned off that for 3g (i suspect it was market as miui uses the download manager to download market app afaik). now, whenever i am home, i am using wifi now.
