Random photos appearing in Gallery

Hi folks,

bit of a strange one here...
This morning when I looked in my Gallery on my phone, there were 3 graphic photos that had appeared and I have no idea where they came from.
When I checked the details of each image, it shows they are all stored in the following location:-
Path: /storage/emulated/0/0Pictures/Messenger

Any ideas what would cause this?
